Using any version of the Sims, create a photoshoot which includes a robot, android or A.I.

Just a few rules:
1. Challenge Dates: 1-31 May 2011.
2. Remember to include warnings. If you want to post something rated R, feel free to do so, but please f-lock the entry.

4. Teaser pics are fine as long as they are no wider than 450px. Entries under an lj-cut please.

Origin - The beginning, starting-point, cause, or ultimate source, from which a thing is derived or generated.

Create a photoshoot based on the word "origin". It can be in any time period, genre or world of your choosing. Any version of the sims is allowed.

Hi there guys! You may have seen mention of contests coming soon, and here they are! This is for august, but I've started it early to give a bit of a heads up. There will be 2 running, as test contests really to gauge participation and logistics (whether there should be a pic limit, etc). It is open to TS2 and TS3. The themes, therefore, is pretty simple this time: aliens!

Contest One: Extra Terrestrial Census

Brief: create an alien sim.

Parameters: In this contest, your sim can be any age/gender. You may even, if you so wish it, make an alien pet!

Contest Two: Off-World Base

Brief: create a small residence for one or two aliens.

Parameters: In this contest, what we are interested in in your building talent. Therefore, the only furnishing that is permitted is kitchen/bath features, structural features - basically anything that wouldn't be removed if you stripped out the house of all décor. You can landscape outside, but again, no "decoration" - your entry should look like a home that is ready for aliens to move in and make it their own.

Entering:

1. Complete your entry.
2. Take pictures.
3. Post them in a new entry to the community, and tag them with 'contest: august 10' and your username ('poster: ____').
4. There will be a poll to decide winners at the end of the month.

CLOSING DATE: Monday 30th August

Rules:

1. One entry per contest, per person (for now).
2. Follow the simgenix rules regarding pictures, cuts and ratings.
3. Pictures for contests should not be overly edited (basically if you get into frankensim territory, you've gone too far).
4. Use as much or as little CC as you want.
5. You can enter with TS2 or TS3, but the one-entry rule stands.

Hello everyone, new mod here!

I'm sure many of you who saw goodbye_sun's announcement, are thinking "contests? What now?" Don't panic! It's going to be fun!

How the contests are going to work:
- They will be one round.
- There will be no panel of judges or scores.
- Winners will be decided by anonymous polls, voted for by you!
- The brief will be set out, you'll post your entry here and/or to your own journal and link it in the contest thread, after X number of entries or X amount of time, the poll will be set up.
- There will be two (possibly 3) contests going at once, of different types (e.g. a decorating contest and a sim-makeover contest).
- You can enter all contests, one entry per contest.

They're intended to be fun and low-pressure. I will, soon, add some basic contest rules to the group, and get the first contest underway.

No other feature of Simgenix is affected by this - continue posting pictures etc!

I'm happy to answer any questions pertaining to contests, or suggestions for such. Also, if anyone has any objection to me participating also (I figured with community voting, it wouldn't be a problem) let me know. :)

I hope you will all give a warm welcome to a new mod here at simgenix - just_jasper! I know she is really keen livening things up with all sorts of contests covering everything from building, decorating, creating sims and posing and composing shots. And I for one am very excited about the prospect of lost more lovely pictures from everyone :D

Do you feel lucky, punk? - Create a photoshoot inspired by a punk sub-genre.

There are many to choose from. A select few are Steampunk, Cyberpunk, Middlepunk, Transistorpunk and Mannerpunk. There is an almost endless list to choose from. Wiki, TVwiki and Google are your friends here, kids.
