It happened the day Wanda turned five.

It was so odd, seeing my son for the first time. Something inside me told me that Bella was right, but it was so unbelievable.
This wasn't supposed to happen yet! I was barely 23! I wasn't ready to be a father yet!

I took good care of Lilith.
I let her sleep until late.
And often baked her cheesecakes, her favorites.
"I think I've become my mother, Beau. She says she also had this odd cheesecake craving when she was expecting Angela and I."

The moment I held my son in my arms for the first time, I knew that my life wouldn't be the same ever again.
Things couldn't stay the way they were, and I had to work harder than ever to give Cosmo a better life than the one I had.

But how?

Unlike most fairy tales, this one began with a wedding.
One summer day, Brandi Newbie and Skip Broke got married in the outskirts of Pleasantview...Collapse )

So, who else is ready for "Go to Work"?

Despite all my complaining about The Sims 3, I really like The Sims 4. I am still disappointed that they got rid of the Toddlers, but seeing how they've slowly added features like Ghosts, pools and recently basements (and free!), I am hopeful for the creators of this game.

The fact that it also runs better in my laptop is a huge plus.

However, I guess that until I am able to purchase a desktop computer, I'll only be able to play The Sims for short periods of time. I used to complain the The Sims 4 overheated my computer, but I am having the same issue with TS2 too (and I was in the middle of picture taking. I am not in the mood of trying it again).

Anyway, I am ready for some more Aliens, mad scientists and police officers! I am so glad that I am on SPring Break because I'll be able to play a lot tonight (The game will be released at 10:00 PM - Eight hours from now).

I'll post my pictures on Tumblr :D

Hey there!

I'm so, SO happy because today was my last day at work before two glorious weeks of Spring Break. I'm going to miss my students and co-workers, but at the same time I can't wait for two weeks of not waking up at 5:30 A.M. and that endless queue of reports I need to complete (I finished all my errands before leaving, of course).

So first things first, I overhauled my Livejournal, complete with a new layout and a new username. I liked Lilacbloom, but after so many years as Simgaroop it never felt like my online persona. So, now I'm "simgarooop" (with three "O"s, because my old username is no longer available... not even to myself). This is more than a Sims journal, but I guess I can post Simlish stuff now and then (although for custom content I'll rather use Tumblr or Simlish Creations if I ever remember to update it again).

As for plans for this Spring Break, I guess I'll continue working out and enjoy the hopefully sunny days.

Have a lovely weekend!

...and I finally updated this journal again.

To those of you who still check LiveJournal and found this entry, how are you doing?!
I've wanted to post an entry for a long time, but the fact that the LJ community is barely alive nowadays didn't inspire as much. And I don't like posting rants or lots of text at Tumblr. I don't know, it still feels odd to me.

But hey, what the heck, even if I end up writing this to myself and only myself, that's fine!

It's been almost 15 years since I discovered Fandom. First, it was Fanfiction.net back in 2000. Later, I had a very cheesy Blog that I am thankful is not around anymore. Around 2004-ish my Fandom friends adopted Livejournal, and I followed along. I kept that journal for almost four years, until I discovered the Sims and created this account in 2007. As I am writing this entry, I searched that old account and it is still around (and in Spanish). LOL, one of the final public entries there is about my Bachelors thesis :3.

However, I barely participate in Fandom anymore. I no longer read or write Fanfiction and Sim Stories. I still create custom content, but not with the same intensity as before. What I do nowadays is visit Tumblr late at night and reblog all the cute stuff that is posted there in my "Miscellaneous Account", but that is mainly lurking.

Of course, this is explained by being much older (and hopefully wiser) and thus much busier with work, family and all the things you have to take care of as an Official Adult (TM). It also has to do with the way Fandom has changed. I guess I am out of the loop, but it seems there aren't as many forums (like GOS, which isn't as active anymore) or active LJ communities anymore, which were perfect ways to interact and chat with other fans. Unless there are other platforms for Fandom besides Tumblr that I haven't discovered yet.

It is a pity, because as I write this entry, I am noticing all the improvements to LJ's writing tools and the interface and it is much better now. If only this were available seven years ago!

I miss my Fandom friends from the early 2000's. I found and friended two of them in Facebook a while ago, so at least I know they are safe and happy. As for the rest of them, I hope they are also OK and that the dreams and plans they used to talk about when we chatted in LJ, Yahoo Groups and Messenger are coming true.

I also miss my friends from when I was active in the Sims Fandom. I know some of them are active in Tumblr and I am following them over there, but as I said, things aren't the same. I am not "active" and it is awkward interacting in Tumblr. We keep liking each others' posts, but it's like sending smoke signals and nothing else.

Wow, this entry is a mess.

Anyway, all this crazy talk was to announce that I am going to start writing here again. Mostly Fandom non-sense. Even if barely anyone reads it. I miss writing this stuff and I need to practice my English writing skills. I am going to take the CAE in the Summer, so I need to keep writing to remember Grammar, spelling and, considering this entry, Logic. I swear I am much more articulate in Spanish!

So, expect more of this in the following days. Heck, this is a permanent account so I am going to make good use of it, dammit!

Hey, there!

Simgaroop reporting from my old laptop. I managed to convince someone to let me use their laptop charger so my beloved Beast has been awakened from a 1+ year long slumber.

I had forgotten how much this machine weighs!

Oh well, I am currently rescuing my CC, copying it in a USB drive for later use. Before my charger broke, I had finished re-downloading my CC after I lost everything. I thought my new and improved CC folder was organized but I was so wrong! I'm not sure I am willing to place 7+ GB worth of stuff I don't even recognize anymore in my newer laptop.

However, I am pretty sure a lot of the files I have stored here are no longer available online, so I'm keeping them in case I remember them someday. After that, I guess I'll have to re-start my Downloads folder from scratch, if only to catch up with what has been created since 2012.

(BTW, if you are looking for something no longer available and it is Maxis Matchish, there is a likely chance I have it, so let me know and I'll gladly share it with you)

Sadly, I have no other places left to comment (or in this case, mock) overblown fandom reactions besides my Livejournal.

And yeah, no matter how much you try to convince me, Tumblr is not the same. Every time I post something there it feels like talking to a wall that will randomly "like" your stuff, but rarely (if ever) replies back. The interaction is just... awkward.

Anyway... I've been laughing non-stop at some of the reactions I've found after J.K. Rowling allegedly gave an interview in which she regrets pairing Ron and Hermione and practically validating the "Harmonians" (aka people who hardcore shipped Harry and Hermione). It's been almost SEVEN years since Deathly Hallows was published, after all.

What was the point of this revelation, anyway? To troll the fans?

If that was her intent, well, damn, girl! She knocked it out of the park!

It's been years and years and the fandom still delivers, hell yeah! I ain't even mad that she has discredited my lone Harry Potter OTP (yeah, I'm one of the weird ones who actually like Ron), this is just too funny to be true.
