SIMA AWARDS
2027 ENROLLMENT OPENS SOON!
Become an official SIMA Awards Preselection Committee Member
Join the pre-selection committee for the annual SIMA Awards, recognizing high-integrity documentary and XR impact storytelling from across 140+ countries. Our committee brings together filmmakers, editors, producers, curators, journalists, human rights advocates, social innovators, and postsecondary students from around the world.
As a committee member, you’ll screen up to 100 documentary films — features and shorts — submitted to SIMA, using our evaluation tools and criteria to assess each project. The experience is entirely virtual, running from September to December at your own pace.
Members receive a certificate of completion and gain rare insight into the breadth and depth of independent impact filmmaking worldwide. We welcome candidates with a strong commitment to human rights, social justice, and social innovation who are studying or working in media, communications, journalism, international development, or related fields.
