COVID-19 Health Resource Center Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported –ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms such as: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, headaches, body aches, runny nose, vomiting or diarrhea. HIV Health Resource Center HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). There is currently no effective cure, but with proper medical care, HIV can be controlled. People with HIV who get effective HIV treatment can live long, healthy lives and protect their partners. MPOX Health Resource Center MPOX is a rare disease that is related to the smallpox virus. While generally less severe and much less contagious than smallpox, MPOX can be a serious illness. It spreads from infected humans, animals, and materials contaminated with the virus but primarily through close, personal, often skin-to-skin contact with people who have MPOX symptoms, such as a rash and/or sores.
