Transformative Works Policy
You do not need my permission if you wish to podfic, fanmix, create art or icons for any of my fics. I would be honored and ridiculously flattered if you did so. I only ask that you link back to the original work. And please let me know -- I would love to see it!

If you wish to translate, remix, write a prequel/sequel for any of my fics, please ask me first. Only because there are a handful of fics I feel very possessive about.

Goodness, this week has been crazy busy. But the good kind of crazy, I think, and SPN came back. YAY!! Oh how I have missed Sam and Dean's faaaces.

Day Twelve

In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you think would make a good intro into XYZ fandom. Rec a fandom overview, a introductory picspam, stories that define and shape the fandom. If at all possible, try to pick a smaller or rarer fandom, one that maybe doesn't have the following you feel it should.

Well, this one kinda stumped me, lol, I don't have any small fandoms. Except then I remembered Die Hard 4! Oh man, you guys, after that movie came out (has it really been over 5 years? WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE???) I spent months reading every John/Matt fic I could get my grabby little hands on :P

I went looking for a primer - I would think there is one? - but my non-existent google-fu strikes again. ONE DAY, GOOGLE, ONE DAY.

I did find this though! It's a slashy recap of the movie done with screen caps :D Made by the lovely lamardeuse. You have to look through it backwards though, so start on image 21 and work your way to image 1.

Also, hard4brains for all your John McClane/Matt Farrell needs. I used to stalk the hell out of this place, lol

Day 13

In your own space, ask for recs. Something as simple as "I like XYZ (where XYZ is a kink, a pairing, a trope, etc) - please rec me some." Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Day 10

In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. It can be a detailed, thoughtful analysis, or a squeeful, joyful post. Or maybe a combination of the two. Make a recs list, link to their archives or master lists or websites, maybe create a Fanlore page for them. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Oh gosh, trying to pick just one creator was SO HARD. Fandom is filled with so much talent and amazing people, I am consistently in awe. How lucky fandom truly is. In the end though, I decided to go with skoosiepants.

I first discovered them years ago in my SGA days. I read every single one of their McShep fics and loved every one. Same for Harry Potter. Then I lost track as our fandoms diverged only to rediscover skoosiepants again through Teen Wolf, and once again, I am blown away by her writing.

Day 11

I seem to have SGA on the brain at the moment, so I will go with my most favorite episode, hands down. Episode 5.06 'The Shrine'. It makes my little mcshep heart soar and do rainbows, or something, lol. It was also a wonderful look into Rodney and John separately too. Plus, the pier scene, you guys. THE PIER SCENE :D

In your own space, create a fanwork. A drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list. A picspam. Something. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'm going to cheat just a little bit and use the icons I created for people during the 'make a wish list' challenge a few days ago. (I don't make icons a lot, and it's probably been close to a year since I last tried, so I know these aren't the greatest, but I had a lot of fun play around with color and cropping. And I do think I am getting better. :) )

Finally figure out how to use Photoshop. I hadn't had much luck in the past, that program is so confusing. So many buttons or tools or features or WHATEVER THEY ARE CALLED. And then when I click on one, a whole much MORE show up. It's insane! My unsavvy brain can not keep them all straight XD

But I want to learn. Because like right now, on the rare instances when I am making banners or icons or something, I'm using various internet programs, iPad apps, and MS Paint. And most times, a combination of several. Ngl, it's kinda a pain. I'm pretty sure Photoshop could do it all AND MORE if I could just figure it out.

I thought about not doing this one, because like I don't really have any talents and my hobby is the internet and not much else, but I said I would do all the challenges, and I will. Plus, I did them all last year, and there is no reason to go backwards, right?

Last year I wrote I was good at baking, which is true. But it's not a passion or anything. I do love traveling. I would see the world if I could.

cakehole_club - It's a SPN and SPN RPF podfic challenge comm! How awesome is that? VERY AWESOME.

spnspringfling - I did this for the first time last year and it was soooo much fun! It really does feel like a spring fling, it's done in like 3 weeks... but, oh man, what an amazing 3 weeks they are...

j2au - There's not much I love more than a well-written J2 AU and this place is FILLED with them.

teenwolf_daily - A daily Teen Wolf newsletter that is infinitely helpful to me. It's like all my TW needs wrapped up daily in one place. (I also really enjoy coding for it (is that weird? :P))

wolfpacking - This place hasn't been all that active the last few months but I think that is changing soon. It's a super fun place where TW fans can squee with each other and complete all kinds of different challenges and wolf piles, people! WOLF PILES.

werewolfbigbang - Because I have a thing for werewolves. Obviously.

Eeeep, I almost forgot about this today! And spent the last 90 minutes reading like crazy, although I don't know why since there are no actual deadlines, lol

Day 5

Stretch yourself a little and try something new. Go play in a new fandom or with a new pairing. Try working in a new medium. Or consume different fanworks. Give that new fandom a go. Listen to a podfic or watch some vids if you haven’t before. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it.

Sometimes I get so ingrained with Lydia/Jackson and Derek/Stiles that I forget that there are other pairings out there. Like, I would have never realized how much I love Jackson/Stiles or Derek/Isaac fics until I actually read them. So, why not read some other pairings to see what else I could be missing, right?

That is what I did for today's challenge. Here are the results:

Scott/Isaac -- confirmation that yup, so cute. They are like puppies. Cute puppies.
Peter/Stiles -- hit my underage squick like no ones business. Definitely not for me, but at least I know for sure now.
Alison/Lydia -- I could read more *g*
Scott/Stiles -- confirmation that yup, I just don't ship them.
Derek/Laura -- This really worked for me. I mean, it reaaaally did. (OMG DON'T JUDGE ME /o\)

Yesterday’s challenge was to comment to or friend/follow someone new. I left a few comments on AO3 to people I haven’t interacted with before in hopes that I will comment there more. I’ve become so lazy with that darn kudos button, lol. I need to work on leaving BOTH kudos and a comment.

Anyway, on to today’s challenge!

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

For people to look through the comments of this challenge and grant wishes. (I‘ll be looking through it later today and this weekend myself, and try to do all the ones I can.)

I would really love some Teen Wolf icons, especially Lydia. Also Derek&Stiles.

I would adore and treasure art/podfic/remixes/icons/fanmixes/whatever have you for any of my fics.

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

I've realized that for how much I absolutely love fanvids, I've never actually rec'ed any or really talked about them. I am fixing that right now.

I wanted to list vids from different fandoms but it's like I got punched in the face with Teen Wolf feels once I started looking for vids and can't seem to watch anything else tonight, lol. Even if you just like the show a little bit, please take some time and watch these videos. I can't say enough about them.

A bit of a fairytale set in modern-day Texas. Jensen is a reserved and by-the-book bank manager. Jay is a laid-back and fun-loving photographer, living in a Winnebago, who comes in looking for a loan. Jensen refuses, surprised when Jay just keeps coming back, determined to shake up Jensen’s very ordered world.

I never wrote a summary for this one (because summaries are the work of the devil, I'M CONVINCED) but this takes place during 4.20 'The Last Man' and is on the angsty side

I'm so glad this week is nearly done, I can't even say. Now I just need to get through the weekend, next week, and the hell that will be next weekend and then? Free time is mine again! \o/

I have so many things I am looking forward to in September. Decorating my house (the walls are so bare right now :( ), reading the second half of spn_j2_bigbang, attempting podfic, planning my vacation (more on that later), and just plan being lazy. And sleeping! Getting lots and lots of sleep! I miss sleep :/

For my bites/bruises square, I tried my hand at making a collage. I have no idea what I'm doing, but never let it be said I don't try new things ;P
