This morning, my cat decided that he needed to pounce, stalk, and chase one of his toys on my bed. With me still in it. At 5 AM. Two hours before I needed to get up for work. :( I went to Video Games Live last Saturday! It was awesome. It was the first time they'd been to Minnesota, and the concert sold out, so it sounds pretty promising that they'll be back. And when they do, they can have some more of my money, because seriously...that was amazing. AMAZING. I've been playing FFXIII. I got it on release day, and beat it last Friday. I saved almost all of the side quests until after I beat it, and I'm working on those now. I can quite honestly say I like FFXIII much more than FFXII. The battle system especially. I don't know if I just didn't delve deep enough into FFXII's Gambit system to make my party members not suck, but I think the party members' AI in FFXIII is pretty competent, and there's no micromanaging required.

So, after having a PS3 for about two and a half years, I finally caved and started gaming online with it (as opposed to just downloading stuff from the PSN). I've been playing SFIV against total strangers for over a week now. The matches have been good for the most part, though I'm sure it's pretty damn obvious that I'm used to playing against the CPU.
I suppose the fact that most of the requests I've gotten have been from people who have put way more time into the game than I have makes a difference, too.
We just found out last week that one of my co-workers is moving to Buenos Aires in April. :( Sad for us, but it's a great opportunity for her.
Also, I am done with winter. DONE. Seriously, every Sunday for the past month, it's snowed enough to make the Monday commute total shit, and the mid-week snowfalls only add to the fun. It's no wonder this city is one of the ten worst weather-wise in the US. Our nice summers make up for the winters, huh? No, they most certainly do not. It's not like I enjoy having a driveway full of grasshoppers, either, but winter driving just sucks.

I bought a house back in June - kind of a belated birthday present to myself. I do have some pictures of the place, which I may eventually get ambitious enough to post. Yay!
...And that's all for now. It's been a long day.

Well, since it's apparently been 10 weeks short of a year since I updated this thing...
...I'm still here.
I will also make a real post later, because I really need to get to bed.

AUGH. I donated blood last Thursday at my office's blood drive...no big deal, nothing new. What WAS new, however, was the excruciating stomach pain, nausea, and the kind of unholy tired where the nurse had to remind me NOT to close my eyes. I got to miss more work than intended (both good and bad, but my boss was donating at the same time, so she knew what was up), but seriously, if the next blood drive falls on the first day of nature's delightful monthly gift, there is no way IN HELL I am signing up for it. Apparently dropping a pint of blood on the last day of it is okay, but this...just sucked.
And now, also likely a side effect of my usually quite awesome immune system getting sucker punched, I have a cold that's making my head feel like it's going to explode. Maintenance was doing some work a few feet from my desk at work today, and the bastards had DRILLS and HAMMERS. This is work they've been saying they'd do for almost two months, and they pick today of all days to do it. DAMN IT ALL.
I found it amusing, though, that when I got back to my desk after the donation and resumed working despite still generally feeling like shit, the lone guy in the department said I'd pretty much emasculated him by doing so, because if the same thing had happened to him, he would have freaked the hell out and gone home.
...Anyway, hi. Still here.

Today was one of those days where I think it would have been a lot easier (and more fun) to just bash my head against a wall until my eyeballs fell out. AUGH. On the plus side, however, Crisis Core came today (about two days sooner than expected), and flame_master1, I just got notified that your copy's on the way. :) It's definitely getting to be spring, because yesterday when I came back from lunch I saw a couple of Canadian geese. The bastards. I CAN'T STAND CANADIAN GEESE. They are nasty, ugly, and irritating as hell and even though I don't hunt, if they made it legal to hunt them I would learn how and do so without question. I would even take time off work for it. Why those stupid-ass creatures are protected is beyond me, because it's not like they're endangered or anything.

The drive to work this morning was COMPLETE AND TOTAL ASS. An inch, a single, stupid, worthless inch of snow, and the entire highway system in the Cities becomes a giant car accident. W. T. F. It normally takes me about ten, fifteen minutes to get to work, but today, it took me over a fun-filled hour to get there.
Way to go, Minnesota folks. Because, y'know, snow is such a rarity around here.

Yesterday it was a balmy 43 outside, and today, with the wind chill, it was -30. 73 degree difference overnight. When I walked out to my car after work, the wind was making me cry, but the tears weren't going anywhere because they were partially freezing to my eyelashes.
It's days like this that making living in the tundra so fun. I would so much rather have car-burying snow. That's at least entertaining. Inconvenient, but entertaining.

I lost my iPod today. :( I listened to it in the car this morning on the way to work, but when I went to hook it up when I got off work I found out it wasn't there. Searched the car, my purse, the giant bag I carry all of my other random shit in, even went back to my desk, and couldn't find it. I figure it must have fallen out of my purse when I went to lunch at the mall and I didn't notice, and even though I did check the lost and found, I honestly didn't expect anyone to turn in an iPod. It could have wound up in a parking lot somewhere, too.
So. I got a new iPod shuffle in blue. My old shuffle was Hayato, so this one is Hayato-chan. :)
Also got a new cell phone, a KRZR, about a week and a half ago. I thought about getting a RZR, but everyone at work already has those and I liked the KRZR better. It is also blue.

Because I don't feel like writing a real entry right now...
Anyway, let's start the new year off right; The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.
Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you!
