-- Olive is at the vet and I am not there, so I am sitting at home trying not to bite my nails. I always worry about the worst, even when her goopy eyes aside, she's a perfectly normal kitty. Eats fine, plenty affectionate and active. Poor boogerbean. The vet she's at is an opthamalogical specialist, so I am hoping we will either finally get an answer about her eyes or be able to schedule surgery to manually recede her third eyelids. She can mostly see fine, but the fact that the third eyelid won't recede is giving her goopy eye and she's not doing so great with peripheral vision.

-- My tummy is a mess today, and I still feel as though I've been flattened by a truck.

-- So much to do today. I would love a day just to lay on the couch and sleep and recover, but no. In a day where I'm struggling to put words together in some proper grammatical order, my first major thing to do is a rehearsal wherein I must not drop a sword off my head.

-- Other things to do: package earring club and other orders. Sort through a giant pile of new supplies. Work on next mini update. Do a major heap of laundry.

WAUGH. Wanna go back to bed.

$300 later, Olive is on two more medications for the most persistent herpes virus ever. Also potentially the most expensive for feline herpes... in the past four months, treating her has cost us over $600 in vet bills and meds. In any case, the doc did bunches of tests, and all that came back was herpes and not any of the more insidious boogaboos.

Unfortunately, after a two hour long eye exam and two car rides, as Jason trying to medicate her, she was so stressed out that she bit him. A tooth almost went clean through his thumb. Very, very unlike her. So poor Olive AND poor Jason. And poor our wallets as well.

On the upside, Olive has a follow up appointment in two weeks and the opthalmologist is very hopeful she'll be much improved by then.

So, there is something super cool happening that I cannot yet tell you about. BUT. There will be an announcement about it hopefully by the end of the week. And this is one of two super cool collaborations comin' down the pike.

Suffice it to say: one of my favorite Retail Therapy stops + Sihaya Designs = MEGA SQUEE.

You are forewarned.

I needed a place to compile all my little TKD Vignettes. New ones need to be written soon! And I think I want an icon. Must search stock soon. I'm picky.

I really challenged myself today.

From the Arabic word for 'Illumination' comes the Inara Necklace.* It is an intricately intwined and hammered wire piece adapted from a wire-only pattern published by Louise Jeremich. Spangled in ruby, garnet, and crimson pearl, this mock-up is for sale in brass, and can be commissioned in sterling silver and copper-- prices TBD according to the metals and gemstones requested. It took me a good 4 hours, but it was totally worth it! Everything here is handmade, including the clasps, except for the chain. Whee!

*Though, yes, of course, it does remind me of a beloved character, but IP and all, you know.
