So, I didn't get as many pictures as I'd have liked. I worked a lot, ran around a lot, sweated a lot. There simply wasn't time for me to take many pictures of the adorable kidlets that Jason termed 'painfully cute.' But there were many of them, I promise-- see last year's pics for reference. Also, many adults dressed in awesome costumes, and many volunteers and vendors and performers who braved 100+ degree weather and stifling humidity (and a huge thunderstorm) all weekend long to keep things working.

Day One: Kat, an_caomhnoir/ Frank, and I on front gate detail for most of the morning.
Looking back on the picture, I have to amend that no, there was no actual parking in my boobs.
More's the pity.

Lowlights::
-- Missing Telesma due to working. But, quoth Jason, "I had no idea faeries rocked this hard."
-- Numerous mosquito bites despite being covered in OFF.
-- Summerfest being cut short due to weather. I was really looking forward to the drum circle.
-- The Weather. OMG. It was not to be taken lightly. I kept hydrated and sweated like a plowhorse. I was coated in a 1/2" thick sludge of Coppertone, bugspray, sweat, glitter, and dirt. I was slick like lube. That stuff was srs bizness.
-- The jewelry I was wearing started to react to said sludge, turning me Incredible Hulk Green. It took two showers to rid me of it.

Highlights::
-- Running into mizjawnson and her hubby (does he have an lj?) as I was running to and fro, and then later under the shade of a nice tree.
-- Booth-babeing for neopolaris who looked about half dead from heat exhaustion.
-- Getting hugs from arashinomoui and blushing_grace.
-- "Are you Christina?" It was elvisolb! He is tall. And cute. And very nice. He was working Summerfest, and with the help of a big burly guy named Maggot, we ended up securing a lot of stuff down before the huge thunderstorm broke.
-- Bumping into Carmencita as I was taking money at the gate. OH! I got your package. Thank you! :) And I loooooove the postcard!
-- A cabin with running water and quasi-air conditioning.
-- All my moniez is belong to Father Dunn & The Gypsy's Monkey girls. I bought: turkoman tassel earrings, a kuchi necklace, another tibial cuff, a bunch of rings, 2 silk wrap skirts, a fancy bindi. Come TribeO, Father Dunn has been promised my firstborn.
-- Henna! I got a great tat on my belly. The lady running the henna booth this year did fantastic work.
-- The Gypsy Nomads were great!
-- The crowd seemed appreciative of my dancing. I'm starting to get more comfortable getting up and doing it, though I need to work on keeping my eyes up and smiling. I felt like my posture was generally strong, especially during some of the taqsim, and I managed do do a very fast, drum oriented piece really comfortably. Granted, this is all from my perspective... but it felt good to me.
-- The boy showed and wanted to hug all over me despite my unspeakably grimy state. He is a giant mushball, and I totally dig it.

...I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. I'm beat from today. But I will update as I remember things.
