Oh noes! The Evil White Sky Death (tm Abby) fell today! I was supposed to go see Cloverfield tonight at some sneak preview thingy, but we all agreed that as the weather was quickly turning sleety, it was a better idea to stay in. I'd been sneezing a lot anyway. So I came home, took a wonderful hot shower, and packed up the three orders that sold today. This involved me cursing at rubber stamps. A lot. It's so simple, and yet I managed to fudge it all up. Blar. Well, the packaging is a major step up-- white boxes, hot pink ribbon, and a custom logo sticker done by Max & Bella. Clean, but funky. After attempting with less than spectacular results to make my own thank you cards, I said screw that, and got online and ordered a set of professionally hand-made ones. Then I messaged Pink Lily Press to have a set of custom thank you tags made for me using their magnolia design. I also ordered an address stamp from Sweetpaperie. So, project: presentation is going very well indeed. Now, to stock up on hot pink ribbon trimmed in black.
Um, LJ Smith fans, in light of the recent fandom implosion, I might have bought some unicorn charms. Might. Purely speculative, of course. *whistles* Oooh, and I made some really cool vintage-y copper flower earrings! Fun! (Yes, I realize I have a one-track mind lately, why do you ask?)
Oh, and speaking of Etsy... after I break even on supplies and start making profit, I am rewarding myself with this bracelet. I have always loved that quote, and having it as a wearable item is brilliant.
Overall, I stayed in and chilled out 'cause I'm going to be overbooked for the next couple of weeks. And just as soon as I finish being superbusy, I'm heading back up to NYC for some quality time with
texmorgan. Who I keep forgetting to call. 'Cause I'm made of fail. We covered this, yes? Well. Today is my father's birthday and I remembered to call. Little victories.
What I have done is abuse my Netflix. I went on a period-piece extravaganza... very inspirational while I'm working. ( Boob tube time.Collapse )
Overall, very much loving my vacation from social obligation. Ready to start being social again, but definitely aware that I need more creative downtime than I'd been previously allowing myself. Happy.
