-- 6/6/06 was pretty uneventful for me. I went to work. I went shopping. I hung out with Sky for a bit. I went to bed early.

Shopping, etc.Collapse )

-- Can I tell you what a blessing it is to have a quiet, patient-free office this week? I got so much done yesterday since I wasn't asked to fix this computer, or hold this line, or find that chart, or do any number of things that are not actually my job (or rather, jobs-- considering I'm doing way more than I was hired to do.) I got six grand billed out to Blue Cross yesterday, which is pretty good, considering with Medicare, Blue Cross, Aetna, and a few other insurances combined, we generally only pull in twelve grand a week. I've got accounts payable to catch up on today, then I'm going to start work on Medicare stuff, since we no longer have a Medicare biller, and we're backed up like whoa. I think it's quite telling that I'm actually happy to be here today-- I don't have my boss sqwawking and making a fuss about things that are not my fault. I don't feel like I have to duck and cover. It's a relief.

-- It is very pretty today. Around lunchtime, I'm going to take a break. Some of you have poked me to review my latest Sephora order, so I should do that, and I also wanted to write up a review for War for the Oaks. I've since started Primavera by Francesca Lia Block, and I'm about halfway through. It's okay, but not riveting.

-- And ooh! Thanks to seshen's update on her SNN journal-- The Senate has blocked a Constitutional same-sex marriage ban! One step in the right direction.
"And Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, said that 'the reason the Senate Republicans are pushing this marriage amendment is because they don't want to address the real issues of this country.'"

Damn skippy, Mr. Reid.
