About my hair, that is. For the show, I'm supposed to be dyeing my hair a rich espresso brown. The problem with this is that to get it that color and back to a lighter, bronzy color will cost somewhere around $60 in product alone, including dye and bleach. And I really prefer to lay off the bleach-- so far, I've only done extensive bleaching once, and my hair was straw-like for weeks. I talked to Joy, the director, and asked if a) the character's hair color could be changed or b) I could get a wig. I'm okay with maybe doing a temporary wash, but even temporaries stick in my hair for quite a bit. It shouldn't be so strong that I'd have to bleach it, though. She said she'd talk to the costume designer about it, so I guess that's good. She offered to see if the $60-$70 was in the budget, but I waved her off. If we do a temporary color, $20 will be fine. In all honesty, I would have hated a permanent espresso brown. It's just not... me. At all. It would make me look like everyone else, or maybe Morticia Addams.

I had the urge to cut my hair really short today, though. Maybe after the show's over, I will.

In the interest of hair talk, I present to you:

My hair: a timeline in pictures.Collapse )

So what say you? Which look was the best? Which do you detest utterly? I personally think that a medium-light pallette is best for me, but I'm curious.
