Yes, I remain in the realm of the living, at least for the time being. I've had my mind wrapped around so many things lately. I just want to curl up in bed with a warm mug of tea. My schedule is hectic, my body is acting strangely, my family is stressing me out. I was without internet for a little while because some backhoe cut a wrong wire and the whole campus lost connections. After that, they thought my computer had a virus and booted me. Finding that no, infact, I didn't, my internet was restored. So. That said.

I've been craving spring. Cherry blossoms. The weather has been gorgeous, sunny and breezy. Almost spring, but not quite. Still, I can feel the earth beginning to wake up, the ground thawing and movement deep below the muddy soil. We're probably due for one more good freeze, sadly.

I did a little friends cut. It's absolutely nothing personal or not a judgement on your writing if you were cut. It's completely a scheduling thing for me, since I haven't been able to keep up with my friendslist for a few weeks now. I'd love it if you stuck around, because there's not a one of you I don't like.

I've got to keep up with my correspondence. That is at the top of my list, right next to memorizing my lines for the show, which opens in less than three weeks. I'm learning to belt in a hurry, but my solo now sounds at least serviceable. I've cut most of the opera-ishness out of it. Joy's changing some of my blocking. She now wants me to exaggerate every movement, vogueing and gliding vampishly every time I take a step. I feel utterly ridiculous. It's a parody character, so it works, but it's so strange to me. I guess that's why they call it acting.

Oh! And I saw a bat today. Before I left the theater, as we were taking notes, we all heard a very loud thud. A bat then slid down the face of the set before swooping directly at Joy's head. It then flew disorientedly around for about ten minutes before settling on a balcony. Odd.

And, for those who have never heard me sing, we're taping our Spring madrigals performance, so I should have a CD to post eventually. Until then, here is Come Again, Sweet Love from our Winter show. I can pick out my voice quite clearly-- the loudest soprano, essentially. Or maybe I'm just used to hearing me, so I can pick my voice out. The other two sopranos (sopranii!) are alondravienta and jessimica05. So there's me singing Renaissance music.

Okay, off to watch Dead Poets Society, which, incredibly, I have never seen.
