About

The Situationist Art Collective , a.k.a. SI2, is an international team filling a unique role in conceptual and graphic arts used in culture-jamming social media. The collective is noted for its 2014-2016 poster collection illustrating how NGOs institutionalize powerlessness by manipulating emotional symbols and images.

By exposing the non-profit industrial complex and its use of social media to promote privatization, spectacular climate charades and ‘humanitarian war’, this collective — that pays tribute to the Situationist International ( 1957-1972) — is among the 21st Century avant-garde defining the spectacle as “an assemblage of social relations transmitted via the imagery of class power”.

The SI2 lineup includes San Francisco media artist Mark Gould, Toronto researcher Cory Morningstar, and Bay Area conceptual artist Jay Taber.
