I know I haven't posted here in forever. Specifically since... a year and twenty six days ago?? Alright, I hadn't thought that it had been that long.

In any case, this post is for the old One Spoof Crowd, should any of you still have me on your friends lists, and I think a few of you do. In a fit of nostalgia while at the Way Back Machine website, I found that, and that led me to find this. It's all there, people. All of it... all nine hundred and four pages of website guestbook, turned into our own demented little forum. And still there, after all these years.

I graduate from Uni this month, you know.  When One Spoof went down I hadn't even started school here yet.

1. As soon as you know about the Game, you're playing the Game. (Congratulations, if you are reading this, you are now participating in the Game!)

2. There is no way to win the Game. There are only two states: losing and not-losing.

3. One is said to have lost the game when one remembers one is playing the Game. At this point you have to make a statement such as "Dammit, I just lost the Game!" or some equivalent.

4. After someone loses the Game there is a half hour grace period for everyone to forget, before anyone else can lose.

More about the Game"

I got four hours of sleep last night, then went to school this morning early, studied for an hour and wrote an exam. It went fine; its an easy course, and I'm not worried about it.
After my exam I hung around for a bit, then went over to the Blood Services clinic and donated plasma. Its a very odd thing... I'm not sure what was worse, the feeling when they took my blood out, or the feeling when they put it back in.
After we gave blood we came back, and then Steph and I and a few of her friends went for cheap chicken wings for dinner, and I studied for the evening.
I have another exam on Friday, and then two more on Monday. My weekend is booked solid... practically no time to study at all.
I feel like I should be really stressed out, but things are good right now. "I are happy", as someone said to me the other night.

Also? I spent my evening class on monday practicing my cursive (which is terrible) by writing out my favourite Shakespearean quote:

A blank, my lord. She never told her love,
But let concealment, like a worm i' the bud,
Feed on her damask cheek: she pined in thought,
And with a green and yellow melancholy
She sat like patience on a monument,
Smiling at grief. Was not this love indeed?
We men may say more, swear more: but indeed
Our shows are more than will; for still we prove
Much in our vows, but little in our love.

There's something so great about that scene - lots of tension, especially in the movie (the version with Helena Bonham Carter as Olivia) ... I really need to find that on DVD.

For those of you keeping score at home, I haven't updated since.... the 5th of November. Sorry about that. I've just been busy between school, work and other stuff.

yai_yai: Luv! How's Japan? Haven't talked to you in ages! I haven't even been on msn recently... I owe you an email. Heh, you're crazy roommate sounds like my crazy roommate. She talks to herself and sings to herself as well, and also watches lots of Japanese cartoons. weird.

makeyourmusic: I am really sorry that I never got a chance to email you back. Real life ate me. How are you??

mutantparrots: I hope you're over your cold. Feel better soon!

mell_o_drama: I love your icons. Seriously, I just spent ages looking through them. You do need some RENT ones, though.

And what have I been up to? I'm playing in two games: a D&D game run by my friend Shawn, and Orpheus, run by my friend Peter. Unfortunately, scheduling problems might lead to Orpheus falling over and catching fire - I really like that game, so I hope it doesn't happen.
Other than that, I've been doing boring school stuff, boring work stuff, and hanging around at the university and at friends' houses. It feels like I'm never home anymore - but keeping busy is a good thing.

I realise that this is a brief update after an almost three month absence, but Shawn's game is tonight, and I have to head over to the university.

A quick update, since not much has happened.

First of all: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to everyone!!

also, instead of writing an essay on substantive economy like I should have been doing the other night, I walked over to campus to watch some movies. I was promised a Miyazaki film, and I just couldn't resist that.

It should be said that what I went to was the Lakehead University Manga club. My slide into complete and utter geekdom is almost complete. And here's what we watched:

Porco Rosso: I love Miyazaki. He makes incredible films with intricate, complex plotlines, interesting commentary on moral issues and well-devloped characters. But this isn't one of them. It was cute all the same.

Two episodes of a anime version of The count of Monte Cristo: Just when I thought things couldn't get any weirder than Porco Rosso... who decided to make a classic piece of French literature into an anime?? And to set it on the moon?

NieA Under 7: I didn't even try to understand the one episode we watched of this. It was cute and funny, though.

Revolutionary Girl Utena: We only watched one episode of this as well, and that was enough. It was like an acid trip, but an acid trip with waaaay to much pink, and too many roses. I just giggled to mysef for most of it. It was good times.

Tsubasa Chronicle: Yeah... Lee tried to explain this one to me, but it still doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense. Apparently all of the characters were borrowed from other shows made by the same production company. Lee and I liked it because the main character is an archaeologist.

As well, Lee lent me his dvd of 'Casshern'. That movie is incredible. It's unbelievably beautiful visually, and it made me cry at the end. It's really messed up and weird, and I think there were a few issues with the subtitle translation because some stuff wasn't explained very well, but it was still really good.

I was cleaning off my desktop, and I came across a tiny little word document my sister had typed. Over the summer we were sitting around talking one day, and she suddenly looked at me and asked "How did we meet?? I don't remember meeting you!"... an odd question, considering she is my sister, and she is two years younger. In any case, she came up with an odd story of how we might have met, and then found it so hilarious that she typed it out and saved it onto my desktop...

Oh my god, I hate you so much.
I wish I never met you.
Wait a minute… how DID we meet? Oh yah, it was that blustery autumn afternoon in Windsor, back in 1987. I was a shy University student, you were a handsome quarterback. We were sitting in Starbucks and our eyes met across the room. I was so startled by your manly charm that I dropped the book I was reading (Cash by Johnny Cash) and spilled my java all over my new cardigan. You loaned me your varsity jacket… and the rest is history.

...

Maybe you have to know her, or something. She really is quite odd.
