ShiVa Server PLE is the free Personal Learning Edition of StoneTrip’s dedicated backend for games and interactive applications built with the ShiVa engine. It is designed for learning, prototyping, and evaluation, allowing developers to explore essential online features such as user authentication, session management, matchmaking and lobbies, chat, leaderboards, and persistent player data without a commercial license. The PLE integrates with the ShiVa toolchain and scripting environment, includes sample projects and documentation, and can run locally or on a private network for fast iteration and debugging. While it mirrors the core capabilities of the full ShiVa Server, the PLE carries usage restrictions—typically non-commercial use and limited scale—making it ideal for students, hobbyists, and teams validating their multiplayer or live service workflows. Projects created with the PLE can be transitioned to the full ShiVa Server for production, preserving your architecture and code while enabling greater scalability and support.
