Unbelievably shocked and devastated to learn of the passing of Robin Williams. He and his work were formative, in my life and in the lives of countless others, and this celebrity death hurts more than most.

Rest in peace, Mr. Williams. You will be greatly missed.

Author’s Notes: This chapter was originally twice as long, but the pacing of the two halves seemed to require a break. (Plus, you know, cliffhangers are fun.) Which means there will be one additional segment than initially intended – 7 chapters instead of the original 6.

Also, this is the first of the sections that went unpublished back in 2005. I always had a solid idea of how this story would go, but I honestly think that the passage of time caused me to make a few different choices than I probably would have back then. Regardless of the slight differences in my plotline, I’m pleased with the outcome overall.

Back in 2005, I wrote a story for the watchersdiaries' Art-A-Thon Reversed Challenge. And while it was completely finished and plotted in my head (not to mention mostly written out by hand in an old notebook), Life happened and I never got around to posting the ending.

It always bothered me to leave it unfinished (I have one or two other fics that also need to be concluded), so I promised myself I'd get back to it.

I know some of you may have read this before, but it has been fine-tuned a bit. (A few years' distance does seem to give a fresh perspective!) And this time the ending will be included!

So I got my email notice yesterday that my automatic LJ payment went through and it hit me: I haven't posted a blessed thing since September.

Well that won't do. Not at all.

My only real excuse is the new house is keeping me pretty busy. (Seriously, this winter was not the ideal time to become a first-year homeowner! The perpetual daily shoveling was starting to feel like Groundhog Day.) Most of my online fun has been hit-or-miss in the stolen moments that I actually get to sit down. But I'm still around, really! And with any luck, I'll get back into the habit of posting more often again in the near future.

I hope all is well with my flist!

I've been super MIA lately, mostly because since moving to the new house I've had internet issues. But I had to sign on briefly to post a quick reaction to the series finale of Breaking Bad...

One of my favorite places to run is Lake Scranton. It's beautiful, and lots of woodland creatures have grown accustomed to all the human foot-traffic.

Yesterday, I had a mother deer and a fawn running alongside me. Add a spontaneous musical number and a few cartoon birds tying bows in my hair, and it was a scene fit for a Disney princess.
