Our Journey Over the Years
Since our founding in 2010, SharedTEAMS has continually refined how marketing support is delivered, evolving from a traditional agency into a platform that combines experienced marketing experts with intelligent workflows to scale execution.
2010. Boutique Agency Roots
Founded in 2010 at the Affinity Lab incubator in Washington, DC, SharedTEAMS’ mission was to support the local small business community. During this period, we worked closely with early-stage companies and growing local businesses that needed experienced marketing leadership but didn’t have the resources for a full in-house team.
From the start, our focus was practical, results-driven marketing supported by seasoned specialists who understood the unique challenges small businesses face.


2017. “A Shared Marketing Department”
As our client base grew, so did the realization that many organizations across the country needed the same kind of support: experienced marketing talent available on demand. In 2017, we launched an online platform designed to give businesses fractional, on-demand access to a cross-functional marketing team. This new model allowed companies to assign projects, receive strategic guidance, and execute campaigns with the support of what many clients began calling their “shared marketing department.”
Over the next several years, our team supported the growth of hundreds of businesses nationwide.
2020. Pro-Bono During the Pandemic
In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted businesses across the country, we expanded our mission beyond client work. SharedTEAMS launched several pro-bono initiatives designed to help struggling small businesses navigate the crisis, providing strategic guidance, marketing support, and practical resources during an uncertain time.
Supporting the small business community that helped shape our origins remained central to our identity.


2024. Adapting With Intelligent Workflows
In 2024, we entered a new phase of innovation by integrating AI-powered tools and intelligent workflows into our production process. These technologies allow us to streamline execution, accelerate production, and amplify the output of our marketing efforts.
