Shashank Kumar reposted thisShashank Kumar reposted thisSingapore has no shortage of AI events. What it has less of: rooms where people actually open their laptops, install something, break something, and build with the tools everyone is talking about. So Shashank Kumar, Ananth Jayarajan, and I decided to run one, a small Claude Code workshop ourselves with friends in our community. Some had never opened a terminal before. By the end, they had Claude reading their files, writing their code, running commands, and creating skills for them on their own machines. The thing I keep coming back to is how quickly the room shifted from cautious to curious. People who'd never touched a terminal an hour earlier were typing their own commands and asking what else they could try. That kind of shift doesn't happen at panels or fireside chats. It needs the laptops open. This was my first time on the host side of something like this, and I left more convinced than ever that Singapore needs more of these small, hands-on, low ego, high signal workshops! Big thanks to my senseis - Shashank and Ananth for being the kind of people who make it easy to say yes to organizing something for the first time. Big shoutout to our guinea pigs Dr Jonathan Chang Namra Nillove Deka Jason Jiang Gilburt Chiang Andrew Lim Maria Tateno Saurya Prakash Sinha JieLing Esther S. Tong Zhao Sonia P. Elise Li Karim Lalji Jessica Bong for bringing your energy! If you're working with Claude Code in Singapore and want a seat in the next one, send me a DM!

Shashank Kumar shared thisOne of the best full stack designer for Shopify. Nitesh did the landing page, App Store Listing and Shopify Dashboard for PushOwl. One of the most important work he did was fixing onboarding where we realised we will loosing almost 30-35% installs in 15 mins after sign ups.Shashank Kumar shared thisCaught up with Nitesh Pathak and Janardhan Massar today for a coworking session. Living fairly close by, we often meet for coffee, badminton or a meal. Today was different though as we actually got some solid work done. I'm pretty lucky to have close friends who are in the Shopify ecosystem. Nothing like bouncing around ideas, comparing notes and sharing what we're building. Sometimes a bit of gossip too 👀 Btw, i you're in the Shopify world and want to: - redesign for your app for Built for Shopify badge - create amazing merch - improve your website or app listing You ABSOLUTELY NEED to talk to these two.

Shashank Kumar shared thisLooks who is back to building again! 🚀Shashank Kumar shared thisBuilding at Full Speed: The Story Behind SpringAI’s Launch A few months ago, we set out to build something ambitious. We knew that ad performance was broken and creative decision-making still relied too much on gut instinct. There had to be a better way. So, we locked in. Ron, SpringAI's incredible CTO , led the charge, and the colab.ai team went all in - long days, late nights, countless calls with brand partners, and a relentless push to get SpringAI from concept to reality. No shortcuts. No half-measures. Just execution. Today, we’re launching SpringAI - a platform built for brands and agencies that need to maximize marketing efficiency and results through AI-driven creative intelligence. This isn't just another ad tech tool. It's the result of months of intense work, industry experience from teams at Meta, Wix, and RiseAI, and a deep belief that brands deserve smarter, high-impact workflows that actually move the needle. I couldn’t be prouder of this team. We built in months what should have taken years. And this is just the beginning. If you run ads, manage creatives, or want to see how AI is reshaping ad performance take SpringAI for a spin through our exclusive launch free trial here - https://lnkd.in/dKipksRx

Shashank Kumar shared thisJust booked my tickets to Hanoi, Vietnam! ✈️ My first trip to Vietnam was back in 2018, when I had the chance to meet incredible Shopify Partners like Judge.me, Bravebits (@PageFly), fireapps.io, @BoostCommerce, and many more. What stood out to me then—and still does—is how Vietnam’s Shopify ecosystem has truly mastered Product-Led Growth. These teams have scaled their apps to thousands of merchants purely by building amazing products—no hype, no fuss, just execution. The lessons I learned from those partners played a huge role in scaling PushOwl, and now I’m excited to be back, learning from an ecosystem that now boasts multiple apps with 50K+ merchants and 100+ member teams. Can’t wait to catch up over Phở and Vietnamese coffee with Sam Ng, Chris Koh, Tri Nguyen, Tony Bui, and many more! Kudos to Chris Koh & Arvind for organising this incredible event and an opportunity to participate with the ecosystem.

I never imagined we would create such a wonderful community. 13 talk sessions and hopefully hundreds of connections were made by our partners and guests. It was truly a special day. Thank you to everyone who came and made this event possible. We had the opportunity to exchange great ideas about eCommerce, and I’m excited to see where these conversations lead. We listen to successful entrepreneurs like Tina Koyama who is doing an amazing job with POJ Studio, Shashank Kumar, who bootstrapped the Shopify App PushOwl to +30K Stores. From Vietnam, we were honored to welcome the PageFly - Shopify Landing Page Builder team and it's co-founder, Tony Bui. Also from Vietnam, Thomas Pham (Avada Commerce). Shashank Kumar shared thisHave seen many journeys of people entering Shopify. But this one is quite close to my heart. Saw my brother coming from a career as a sailor to an app developer and now handling partnerships. These stories are only possible in Shopify ecosystem!Shashank Kumar shared thisJourney from a Sailor to Shopify Partner. Here it goes: ... At the start of 2018, if you would have met, I would have said Ahoy! mate and talked to you about Ships 🚢 , pirates 🏴☠️ , and travel 🧳 stories, but later at the end of 2018 I was transitioning from my Sailing life ⛵️ (I was still considering going back to the sea 🌊 ) into the Shopify journey, it’s when I attended Shopify Pursuit in Bengaluru, and I was convinced I could still travel and meet more people from around the world and that was good reason to stick around. As luck had it, the pandemic hit and later it was announced no more Pursuit, I was heartbroken 💔 . [ A lot happened in between from being a Tester, Account manager, Developer, Running an agency, and Building my own Shopify app ] Shopify Unite was announced and I was pretty excited to go to travel to Australia 🇦🇺 and meet new people and attend my first #shopifyunite. Shashank Kumar liked thisVery honoured to have taken the stage at NRF 2026: Retail's Big Show Asia Pacific. Thanks to Shopify for the invitation! I shared about our experience using AI within Delugs, specifically on how we leverage Claude to perform various tasks in Shopify at scale, doing things that previously couldn't have been done just because of the sheer volume of what it entailed (such as creating 7000 landing pages, or adding alt text to 10000 images). I also talked about how AI is transforming our backend operations, automating purchase orders across 400+ products and inventory transfers for 10,000 SKUs across three warehouses and two boutique locations. I also had a fireside chat hosted by Fanshen Chan, sharing the story of how Delugs came to be and got to where it is today. One question that came up was how Delugs went global. The natural progression for many brands is to start local, then regional, then global. Delugs was different. We started as a global brand from day one with global ambitions. People are always fascinated by how a Singapore brand managed to do that, but I think it's important for brands not to set limitations on themselves. Especially for Singapore brands, to think about how we can make an impact and reach a global audience rather than restricting ourselves to only thinking about the local market. It may seem scary, but once that internal mindset shifts, it actually opens so many doors (and it's a much larger market too!)

Shashank Kumar liked thisShashank Kumar liked thisI came back from NRF with a handful of conversations I actually want to follow up on. Event fatigue is real and it's easy to talk yourself out of these things when you're already stretched thin at work. But there's something that happens when you step out of the day-to-day and put yourself out there. It has a way of quietly resetting something in you. If you've been on the fence about getting out there, whether it's an industry event, a networking session, a conference you keep skipping, I'd genuinely encourage you to go. Not just for the keynotes but for the conversations you didn't plan on having. This year, NRF shifted something for me. What I thought would be just another event turned into a reminder of why staying connected to the industry, and to people, actually matters. Meeting the amazing Content Square team (Malav Desai let's catch up!) right next to our booth, was one of those unexpected highlights. Genuinely warm, easy to talk to, the kind of people who make three days on your feet feel a lot less exhausting. For David from Canon Singapore who joined us at our post-event drinks and had one of the most grounded conversations I've had in a while about what partnerships actually look like in practice. For Zulfaliq Mohamad and Daniel Ivan who spoke at our talk and did it brilliantly. For Ian Tilson coming down, the support and the in-depth conversations we had about where we're taking the Dotdigital partnership next were exactly the kind you can only have when you're out of the office and present. New directions in the works. More soon. For Rameshwar Vyas and the team from Ranosys, and the Merkle team (Patrick Sim CLMP™ and Xin Yee C.), finally got to sit down properly - and really good discussion. Excited to see what we can build together! Really appreciate your time. NRF is a big conference. But the value, for me, was always going to be found in a handful of real people. P.S - of course to the Dotdigital fam, Thank you! You've been amazing! (Jia Jun Chan (JJ) Amirul Fahim Matthew McClelland Amanda Tan Graham Bell Jannat Dawra Rohan Lock)

Shashank Kumar liked thisShashank Kumar liked thisMy first large-scale brand campaign. But YOU made it trend. 🫶 Aman Gupta has been behind some iconic companies, and I genuinely believe India needs to move beyond only cricket and bollywood when it comes to brand campaigns. Entrepreneurs should be celebrated too. And honestly, Aman’s commitment on set was inspiring. Not because he is famous. Because he was fully invested in the work. On the day of the shoot, he worked with a crew of 200+ people, gave every take his full energy, and stayed patient through all the chaos that comes with a large film set. At one point, it started raining during the meditation scene, and he still chose to continue shooting outdoors. There is a reason why men like him reach a position like that. From a rumour about Aman taking a private jet to avoid traffic, to the internet joking about his obsession with being “Kwik”, Twitter had a field day. For two consecutive days, we made it to the top 3 trends. A career best for me. But the larger reason this campaign matters is GoKwik. We have always stood for ecommerce merchants — helping them grow Kwik-er and smarter. Starting an ecommerce business is easier than ever. Scaling one is still incredibly hard. That is the problem GoKwik is solving. Super grateful to my partners-in-crime Atul & Ayush, the entire team, and a big hug to Chirag for this opportunity. Keep sharing the memes. ⚡

Shashank Kumar liked thisShashank Kumar liked thisBack from Paris, and I’m still processing what an incredible few days it was. The Wide Event was special, not just because of the conversations, the sessions, or the city, but because of the people. There is something very different about turning online familiarity into real-world conversations over coffee, dinner, walks, events, and spontaneous “oh you’re here too?” moments. Here are some of the amazing people I met in Paris, and wanted to take a moment to appreciate each of them. Mat: Thank you for bringing such amazing people together and pulling off a brilliant event, even with an injury. Huge respect. Andrew & Emili: I have so much admiration for what both of you do for the ecosystem and newer apps like us. Always lovely meeting you. Zapiet x FoxSell Bundles Tennis Club is just getting started! Léo, Océane, Victor: Meeting y’all was easily one of the most fun parts of Paris. I came expecting work conversations, but you all know how to make it a great time. Erikas: It was amazing finally meeting you. Your journey has inspired many of us building in the ecosystem, and meeting you was definitely a highlight of the trip. Elena 🏄🏼♀️: Paris almost became synonymous with meeting you every day. Your energy is contagious, and I took away so much from our conversations. A true ecosystem celebrity, and rightly so. Dulé: Thank you for taking us around Paris. One of the best days of the trip. The life conversations were refreshing, and the way you make people comfortable is something I genuinely admire. See you in Bangalore soon. Anggy: From Croissants & Coffee to climbing the Eiffel Tower, our energy matched instantly. So glad we got to spend proper time together in Paris. See you soon in Bangalore, and keep inspiring with your fitness journey! Aimée: Meeting you never feels like meeting after a long gap. Breakfast conversations about life and work were beautiful. This ecosystem really has brought real friendships into our lives. See you soon! Luke: My brother! So good catching up. Thank you for saying hello on video, I know that’s not your most comfortable zone. Margaritas in Toronto, without fail. Keir: It was amazing catching up over coffee and talking about life across different parts of the world. Time flew by. See you soon in London (or maybe Bangalore?)! There are some people I can't write about because (apparently) there's a character limit on Linkedin. But can't skip mentioning them. Antoine Alexandre Marton Balint Spencer Sam Lokendra Alex Youness Ketul Joda Daniel Alec Farid Paris was beautiful. The Wide Event was brilliant. But as always, the people made it memorable. Yesterday, all 17 of us walked into a ~2000 sq ft space on 20th Main, HSR Layout. Our second home for now. Here's the real reason we moved. We were spread across multiple cabins and teams were quietly getting siloed. At this early stage, that's suicidal. You can't build customer obsession when your own teams aren't in the same room. So now we have one space. For work, for food, for party. To fuel the culture and the hunger. They say a new place builds new habits. Hoping ours are higher speed, sharper customer focus and getting AI to solve customer problems deeply. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹. → To the team that made every inch of the old place feel too small. → To every brand that trusted us enough to get us here. → And to our families, our constant support system. TRAI Hackathon 2nd Prize Winner
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India
People in India face regular telecom related issues like Call Drops, Slow Internet, Incorrect Billing etc. to name a few. TRAI wanted participants to build an E2E system which could help them monitor these complaints and get useful insights. As a part of the hackathon, I built a bot which could take complaints from the user, and feed it to TRAI portal for analytics. The corresponding complaint was also redirected to concerned Telecos to rectify the complaints.

🚨 Leadership Shake-up at xAI: Uday Ruddarraju Joins OpenAI After Building Colossus & Grok 3 💻🔥 In a bold career move, Uday Ruddarraju, the Head of Infrastructure Engineering at xAI, has stepped down after an intense year building the Colossus supercomputer (200K+ GPUs) and leading the infrastructure behind Grok 3. 🗣️ “Jensen Huang was right — Elon and his teams are singular in what they can achieve,” Uday wrote on X. But now, he’s joining OpenAI, where President Greg Brockman warmly welcomed him and 3 other top engineers. 🎯 Key Highlights from Uday's time at xAI: Deployed 100K GPUs in just 4 months, then scaled to 200K. Helped train and ship Grok 3, a leading AI model in 2025. Worked directly under Elon Musk, calling it the “best part” of the experience. Praised both the infra and research teams for beating “impossible expectations.” 🏁 His move adds to the growing trend of talent flow from xAI to OpenAI — a reminder that even in the AI arms race, it’s people who build the future. #AI #Leadership #xAI #OpenAI #ElonMusk #GregBrockman #Colossus #Grok3 #AIInfrastructure #CareerMoves #TechLeadership #MachineLearning

History has a pattern most people ignore. When two brothers commit to one mission, outsized things tend to happen. These two just put India on the global AI product map. Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha didn’t start Emergent to “democratize coding.” They started it because app building was fundamentally broken. Especially for people building real businesses, not weekend side projects. Most people think building apps is hard because they’re non-technical. That’s a convenient myth. The real problem is the process. Too many tools. Too many handoffs. Too many systems that work fine until real users show up. And that’s exactly when founders can’t afford failure. So instead of hype decks and loud launches, these two brothers did something rare. They went quiet. No buzz. No flashy demos. No “AI will change everything” noise. Just months of grinding through the system, removing friction where it actually breaks. What came out of that effort became Emergent. Now here’s the part that should make you pause 👇 In just 7 months: 5M+ builders 6M+ real apps powered $50M ARR Users across 190 countries That kind of growth doesn’t come from hype. It comes from reliability. Which is why serious investors noticed. Early backing from Google AI Futures Fund, Gossamer Ventures, and SoftBank, followed by a $70M Series B. Not because it sounded exciting. But because it didn’t break when real users arrived. While most AI app builders stop at prototypes, Emergent goes end-to-end: Backend. Frontend. Database. Cloud. Payments. Deployment. Production-ready from day one. So what does this mean for the Indian Tech & IT landscape? This is the real shift 👇 1️⃣ India moves from services to software leverage When app creation becomes this fast and reliable, Indian founders can own products and IP, not just deliver projects. 2️⃣ Pressure on traditional IT models Billing hours and large dev teams won’t disappear overnight, but their dominance will shrink. Outcome-driven software beats manpower-driven software. 3️⃣ Faster startup cycles Founders no longer wait months to validate ideas. They can go from idea → production → users in days, not quarters. 4️⃣ Talent expectations will change The new edge won’t be “knows React or Java.” It’ll be: can you design systems, workflows, and outcomes? 5️⃣ India becomes a serious global builder, not just an executor Tools like this quietly shift India’s role from “cost-efficient tech” → product-first innovation hub. This isn’t just a startup success story. It’s a signal. Software is shifting from: "writing code to describing outcomes" And the teams that win won’t be the loudest. Agilitas x Virat Kohli partnership is one of the masterstroke deals I have seen in recent times. Virat invests 40 CR in Agilitas for a 1.94% stake, putting Agilitas’s valuation around 2000 CR. 📈 In turn, Agilitas acquires one8world, making Virat a co-founder and shareholder. They now get two very important growth levers: ⬇️ 1. A powerful manufacturing (via Mochiko Shoes - a 600 CR+ footwear brand that Agilitas acquired in 2008 ), 2. India’s biggest athlete — exclusively aligned. Easily becomes a 4000 CR revenue brand in the next 5 years. Footwear + retail scale requires capital — but this partnership compresses customer acquisition, product cycles, and brand-building like few others. Even Virat said in his podcast with Abhishek Ganguly, the co-founder of Agilitas that, “I didn’t want a brand deal… I wanted to build something that outlives me.” And Abhishek said something even beautiful - “An ambition to build from India but be globally relevant.” This isn’t marketing. This is legacy building with shared skin in the game. And that is how startups work - shared ambition with one goal (to make the company big) and food (read stake) in the table for everyone! A company that can be built in the long term with culture, capital, and conviction aligned. This might be the first time in India, where an athlete joins hands with a sport company to re-imagine and build the sport ecosystem of India - truly revolutionalising the game with a clear vision. 🙌

On February 18, during India's AI Impact Summit, a company called Sarvam shipped a 105-billion-parameter model trained from scratch in India on government-subsidized GPUs, designed for 22 Indian languages. It outperforms DeepSeek-R1 on certain benchmarks at one-sixth the size. The same summit produced $200 billion in investment pledges from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Reliance. The headlines were about the money. The real story was Sarvam. This post examines in detail why it took this long, what changed, and whether Sarvam is the first crack in an old equilibrium or a lonely exception. "Indians Rule Big Tech. Why Can’t India Build?": Link in comments.

#BookRecommendation #ByteDance I am a staunch believer that the India technology ecosystem can benefit immensely from key learnings ("What to do?" and also, "what NOT to do?") from mature markets like China (one of the key reasons PROMAFT exists today!). 'Attention Factory', the book does a brilliant job of deeply researching the evolution of ByteDance - a company that has been rather obscure for it scale and impact. The book immaculately captures - 1. Thinking hard about the 'Consumer need' - Social network or Content Platform - using data to prove the same. 2. Evolution to 'Product-Market-Fit' - they were not the first to market! 3. Investing behind scalable technology - a recommendation system that 2x'ed' retention rate and usage in a matter of weeks 4. Rapidly scaling post 'Product-Market-Fit' - customer acquisition, M&A, offline activation - leaving gargantuan competitors like Tencent behind Super valuable for any entrepreneur looking to build & scale globally. Can't wait to re-read this again. Matthew Brennan

Protocols over Products - the paradigm shift most are missing. Products compete. Protocols compound. WhatsApp: 2B+ users, one company wins UPI: 400M+ users, entire ecosystem thrives Products create companies. Protocols create economies. The shift: • Products build walls → Protocols build bridges • Products extract value → Protocols expand value • Products create dependencies → Protocols create capabilities India isn't just adopting this with #UPI, #ONDC, and #Beckn. We're showing the world how it's done.
