Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
Steve is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Seymour Whyte, assuming the role on 1 January 2026. He joined the business in January 2015 as General Manager – Southern Region (NSW/ACT/Victoria) and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in April 2022.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the construction and infrastructure sector, Steve brings a disciplined, commercially astute leadership style, supported by strong strategic planning capability and deep expertise across complex contract forms, risk management and large-scale project delivery.
Prior to joining Seymour Whyte, Steve held leadership roles across a variety of Tier 2 and 3 companies, where he was responsible for pre-contracting, systems and process development, capability building, operational performance, and end-to-end project delivery. He was also at Tier 1 contractor Abigroup for a decade, in project and operational management roles.
During his time as Chief Operating Officer, Steve supported the company’s continued growth and operational development, with a focus on strengthening governance, building capability, working in new and diverse markets, ensuring consistency in delivery and effective risk management across the business.
Since joining Seymour Whyte, Steve has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and diversification, leading its expansion in New South Wales, and then establishing the business across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. As Managing Director and CEO, Steve is focused on sustainable growth, teamwork, operational excellence and delivering long-term value for clients, partners, and the communities we operate in.
