Coins allows a hobbyist numismatist to easily import and record details of their coin or medal collection, including;

• Catalog ID, description, face value, year of issue, country and category,
• Certificate of authenticity number,
• Vendor, website and valuation,
• Mark coins with estimated date, cost, duplicates or wishlisted,
• Purchased date, quantity and cost,
• Grading (Sheldon, NGC or PCGS Grading Scale),
• Rarity (URS or R-1 to R-9 Rarity Scale),
• Mintage and mint marks,
• Diameter and weight,
• Composition,
• Miscellaneous notes,
• Photos of the coins (add obverse and reverse images by drag and drop and a photo of a medal rim can be added for medal collectors under Preferences), and
• Coin documentation being purchase invoice and certificate of authenticity.

THIS APP IS FANTASTIC!!!! So I had inherited a fairly large coin collection a couple of years ago, passed down from my grandpa to my dad, then on to me. Since then, I on more than one occasion had tried to make a spreadsheet or something similar to catalog them all with the pertinent information and a photograph of each coin, however not being too tech savvy I gave up after multiple attempts and the coins have sat dormant for some time now. Then I ran across this app, it was EXACTLY what I was trying to do for myself but failing miserably at. This app is everything I need, right down to the ability to add a quantity count as in some cases I have duplicates and triplicates and sometimes even more of the same coin. This app keeps a running total of your coin count and it’s value. It has made what was once going to be a grueling and daunting task an enjoyable pleasure. Absolutely sublime :)

Excellent application. Clean, efficient and elegant. In my opinion quite complete in functions. After the latest innovations (CSV import / export, etc.) it has nothing to envy to more noble and expensive programs. The programmer’s availability for support and information should also be appreciated.

Coins allows you to import your coin or medal collection from a spreadsheet CSV file (with headers) to minimize re-keying of data and to export your collection as a CSV file (excludes photos) to share with other collectors. Also, a coin or medal can be duplicated which can be a template when adding coins or medals with similar data.

Your coin collection can be filtered by catalog ID, description, face value, year, country, category, mint marks, duplicates, wishlist or text in notes. The denomination, year or country columns can be hidden (which is customizable in Preferences) for medal collectors which allows for filtering by description or category (or country if unhidden).

Images of your coins or medals can be viewed in the photo gallery and you can inquire on your portfolio profit as well as print listings, portfolio details, photo gallery or purchase history listing of your coin or medal collection.

• Color (if applicable),

• Perforation details, and
• Photo of the stamp (add image by drag and drop), and
• Stamp documentation being purchase invoice and certificate of authenticity.

If you want a database program to inventory your postal stamps and record aquisition information, condition, denomination, perforations and size, along with the ability to attach image files of the stamps and associated certificates and documents, Stamps is it! For these needs, Stamps fulfills with aplomb. Its screens are well laid out and data entry is intuitive. It has limited options for printed reports but it does create an printed, detailed, inventory list. This is exactly what I was looking for in a postal stamp database. I wasn’t looking to develop my own album pages, nor printable arrangements for sharing and display. Options for the Mac are limited in this niche. If your needs are basic, Stamps delivers with a simple interface that makes it a pleasure to use.

GedGap is a free genealogy tool that can help you plan, rate and prioritize your research plan from an imported GEDCOM file;

• Analyze and score each of your sources to reveal gaps in the reliability of your birth and death entries,
• Prioritize individual avenues of research based on the quality of the sources upon which they’re based,
• Determine a confidence rating in your sources based on completeness of research,
• Provide brief tips on birth and death entries for researching,
• Allow you to add brief notes to each entries status of research,
• Allow you to set flags for missing sources being proof of birth and death events, whether research is complete or has ceased, and

GedGap 2.0 has been released by Seven Cookies. GedGap 2.0 is a major upgrade. GedGap is a macOS program that is a genealogy research utility – it’s not a a full-fledged genealogy application like Heredis, MacFamilyTree, Reunion, etc. Instead, it analyzes a GEDCOM file, and provides information on things such as sources and quality/confidence of sources (or lack thereof), problems with entries (births/deaths), as well as pointing you towards areas that need more research.

After a GEDCOM file is imported, GedGap will analyse the sources against each person’s birth and death event. The scoring determines the relevance of a source to the event with more relevant sources scoring higher, e.g. a birth certificate provides stronger evidence of the birth of a person than a census record. The internal scoring engine is customisable for different birth and death source types, e.g. birth index, death certificates, etc.

For each person in your tree, their confidence rating shows how strong the birth and death sources are in proving evidence of the birth and death events, the priority (which is similar to a to-do list) can be set where lower scored sources would have a higher priority, birth and death tips allows for a brief status or repository to be searched as well as research notes can be entered against each person.
