Kingfisher Girl

My birthday this year was very pleasant. Thank you to all who wished me well and gave me gifts this year. I treasure both. :)

The cookie experiment turned out to be interesting. We wound up making two batches because we didn't mix in the baking soda well enough the first time and had to throw them away. We started over and did very well the second time though both of us forgot to take the first dozen out of the oven before they burned. This just goes to show that Satoru and I need to use an egg timer next time we cook together.

Yesterday I had a surprise. :) One of the boys from the school aesthetics committee showed up at my house with a picnic basket and asked me if I wanted to go to the park. :) He must've really wanted to see the flowers starting to bloom, too, because he looked so excited when I said yes. I had a really good time. :) Today, he asked me if he could walk me home from tennis practice but I had to say no since my parents are picking up Satoru and me directly after school. It's Satoru's birthday today so we're going out to dinner and then the symphony afterward, along with wherever Satoru would like to go. I did promise Takao-kun I would go see the sakura with him once it starts to bloom. He seemed really happy about that. :)

Grandmother's birthday party went without with a hitch last week. As much as I love my family, I look forward to April. Not only is it the start of a new school year, but I'll have more time to spend with my friends. :) March is always such a busy month for me.

Mine snuck up on me this year. I hadn't even noticed it was the 4th already until my parents asked me where I would like to go for my birthday tomorrow night. I haven't given it much thought at all so I said whatever they decided was fine with me. They usually have a pretty good idea of what I like and dislike. Strange. I don't feel like I'm turning fifteen tomorrow. I trust them to pick an activity or restaurant I'll enjoy.

Aside from spending time with my family, I have no other plans. I can't say I'm bothered by this development in the slightest.

It looks like it will be warming up a little this week. I, for one, will be quite glad to see more sun for a few days.

I had a lovely time making chocolates for Valentine's Day this year. I think I might have overdid things a little but I was just so excited about being able to make them and give them out this year. I even used sugar for them though now I have a bunch of left over chocolates from the recipe that I won't eat. They're free to a good home and brave stomach if anyone wants more chocolate and is willing to sample my cooking.

Hm. I don't have anything else to post about today.

I'm not very good at maintaining these, am I? Looks like it's been a month since I last posted in this. There isn't much I want to post about in the off-season for me, nothing that's especially exciting anyway. I stepped down as captain again to focus on my health and my own training. It was a difficult decision, it's always so difficult to make but it was a necessary one. It's a little lonely training on my own but these are things I have to face by myself. I've hit another plateau. This is so frustrating. It wasn't that long ago I got over the last one. It didn't used to be this hard to improve I've made some progress so I can't complain.

I hope autumn is treating everyone well.

I'm meeting Fuji-chan at Tokyo Tower this evening to go ghost hunting. In the event that Fuji-chan and I get sucked into a parallel universe and are called on to help save the world from villainous mayhem, Gin will be your new captain and Rena will be your vice-captain. I expect all of you to follow them as you would follow me. ♥

It took some searching but I managed to find my old sports radio in my closet. Hopefully, it will work well enough to pick up any ghosts I might run into next week. I might be able to persuade my brother into letting me use his boombox by then. :) His has a miniature television set built in.

Has anyone heard any rumors of supernatural occurrences happening at Rikkai Dai Fuzoku? This is a question mostly directed to my teammates but any local leads would be appreciated. :)

I had not realized so many players from the tennis circuit had these journals. I do not often make public entries but I would like to try and remain in touch with all of you who have friended me. I will not waste space by introducing myself; if you have me friended, you already know who I am.

Instead, I would like to share a few things about myself that most on the circuit do not know about me and would like to ask if those reading might be interested in doing the same. I'm not only in the tennis club at Rikkai Dai Fuzoku. I'm also on the school aesthetics committee and I'm one of those in charge of tending to the flowerbeds on campus. Do any of you participate in extracurricular activities beyond tennis? If you do not mind sharing, I would also like to know how you came across this journal.


[OOC: This is a revamp. Seika's history is her profile (and I apologize for the length XD;) Her journal is mostly private and this is the first public entry she's done in over a year. As far as her teammates, there's been friends-locked entries mentioning her recovery in vague terms this past year and more detailed entries about her health talking about the doctors' prognosis, how physical therapy has been going, what medications she's been on and what side effects she's having, and so forth that are filtered to Rena and Gin alone. Another thing to note is that Seika isn't completely recovered from her GBS though she's pretty close to it. I know it's a lot of backstory so if you have any questions or need something clarified, don't hesitate to give me a poke. I don't bite. ♥]
