Program description
The integrated (Airline Transport Pilot Licence) ATPL program by Select Aviation College provides rigorous training to achieve the highest level of pilot licensing in the world. The program is based on a continuous learning system in which basic ground school and flight training elements are interdependent and sequenced to ensure complete and effective learning.
Students participating in the Attestation of College Studies (ACS) program will benefit from the same advantages as the integrated training, in addition to receiving a certificate upon successful completion and being eligible for the Quebec government’s Aide financière aux études programs (for Canadians and permanent residents).
Admission requirements
- Be 17 years old or older by the time you start your program
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Be proficient in the language of instruction (English)
- Be able to obtain the Transport Canada Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate
- New: starting December 1st, 2025, all new admissions will be required to take the COMPASS test.
- Satisfy one of the 4 following conditions:
- Have interrupted full-time studies or pursued full-time post-secondary education for at least 2 consecutive terms or one complete academic year;
- Be covered by an agreement between the college and an employer or benefit from a government program;
- Have interrupted full-time studies for one semester and have pursued full-time post-secondary studies for a minimum of one semester;
- Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS).

Duration
The total duration of our airline transport pilot license training is 24 months.
Several factors can affect the duration of airline transport pilot training. These may include the student’s availability and schedule, weather conditions, the pace at which the student learns and progresses, and any unforeseen circumstances that may arise.
Evaluations
As part of the program, and in addition to the college evaluations, candidates must pass the following Transport Canada written exams:
- PPAER
- CPAER
- INRAT
- SARON
- SAMRA
As part of the program, and in addition to the internal checks, candidates must pass the following Transport Canada flight tests:
- Private Pilot License Flight Test
- Commercial Pilot License Flight Test
- Instrument Rating Flight Test (IFR)
- Multi-Engine Rating Flight Test
Requirements for Obtaining the ACS
The requirements for obtaining the Attestation of College Studies are:
- Successful completion of all program courses
- Obtaining the Frozen ATPL License
- Demonstrating a sufficient level of French proficiency, as required by Law 14.

After completing this training program, here is a list of licenses and ratings you will obtain:
- PPL, ATPL integrated ("frozen"), including a CPL license's privileges, night rating, multi- engine and instrument ratings.
