The following tools provide useful background information about your community that can support grant proposals and planning efforts. They offer data on topics such as population, demographics, and economic or environmental risks.
Rural Capacity Index Map
This tool allows you to select any community, and get quick information relating to their capacity. This considers things such as the percent of the population with access to broadband, health insurance, and if there is access to a university. To use this tool, scroll down to the map, then zoom in on your community of interest.
Alaska Division of Community and Regional Affairs
This tool provides helpful information about your community. Some communities have historic photos. To use, select your community name from the dropdown menu.
Community Economic Profile System
This tool can generate specific reports about your community. It includes categories such as tourism, timber, and public land information. To use, simply type your community name into the search box. It will open up your community page. From there, you can download and review the specific reports you are interested in.
