1 year, 1 month - Japanese Role Playing Games – or JRPGs are why many of us fell in love with video games. The delightful melodrama, over-the-top transformations, powerful spells, or the game that manages to buck those tropes all hold a special place in our heart. Which is why, IGN put together a list of our top 25 JRPGs with a twist. We’ve chosen to limit ourselves to a single entry in a franchise – so there’s a strong possibility that your favorite Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, or insert franchise entry here was in contention but ultimately didn’t make it. But enough talk – let’s get to the list.

1 year, 6 months - 2024 was a fantastic year for games, thanks to some big releases, strong remakes, and unexpected hits across all genres. Whether you're a fan of RPGs like Metaphor: ReFantazio and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, looking to dive into something with a little more action like Helldivers 2 or Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, or prefer something more chill like Balatro or Astro Bot, this year has something for everyone. Here is a list of the best reviewed games of 2024.

1 year, 9 months - 2023 is a tough act to follow, with IGN awarding 83 games a review score of 8 or higher last year, including five 10s, with games such as Baldur's Gate 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offering a couple of generational greats.Now, in 2024, over 50 games have earned a spot on this list, such as the "Great" Black Myth: Wukong, Palworld, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, plus the "Amazing" Balatro, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, alongside the 10/10 "Masterpiece" which was Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

1 year, 10 months - In today’s Daily Fix:Black Myth: Wukong will not be releasing a sequel, but instead develop a DLC expansion in the future. This strategy has recently been used by Elden Ring with it’s DLC Shadow of the Erdtree. Helldivers 2 dev responds to its communities negative experience with a 60 day outline for its next update to the game. Helldivers still await news of the new faction that will join the fray while they deal with nerfs that leave players wanting for more, and not in a good way. Yakuza/ Like A Dragon will be sharing more about its new game on September 20th during the RGG summit, where they said the game will continue to be about middle aged men doing “middle aged men things”. Finally, Balatro, a poker roguelike deckbuilding game, will be released on mobile, including all other platforms. Play your hand if you dare.

1 year, 10 months - In today's Daily Fix:A new month is just around the corner, and that means new games coming to your favorite PlayStation game subscription service. Coming to PS Plus next month are Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, MLB: The Show 24, and Little Nightmares 3. We haven't reviewed Quidditch Champions, but if you're a Potterhead, it could be worth checking out. We gave MLB: The Show 24 an 8 out of 10, which, despite what the rest of the internet says, is a good score. And Little Nightmares 3 looks to deliver solid spooks just in time for the fall season. In other news, a new Metal Gear Solid collection could be on the way, as evidenced by some teases from Konami (and one a while back from the voice of Snake himself, David Hayter). And finally, the next Like a Dragon game could be announced at an upcoming showcase next month.
