The 50 free appointments have been fully booked. All remaining appointments will be provided at low-cost. For pricing information and to make an appointment, visit sdhumane.org/spay.

It’s Spay/Neuter Awareness Month, and we’re excited to shine a light on the lifesaving impact of spaying and neutering your pets! These routine procedures are a simple way to care for your pet’s health, prevent unplanned litters and keep our community safe.

Thanks to a generous $10,000 donation from an anonymous donor, we’re offering 50 free-of-charge spay/neuter appointments for qualifying* pet families, with additional low-cost appointments available.

To celebrate, we are also hosting a special spay/neuter event in partnership with County of San Diego Department of Animal Services (DAS) on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

*Eligibility: Families residing in San Diego County and earning under $100,000/year are eligible for a free spay/neuter appointment.

Please note that additional services, including licensing, vaccination or e-collar fees may have separate costs. Dog licensing and current rabies vaccination are required for dogs in participating jurisdictions.

Appointments are available now, and they’ll fill up quickly — so don’t hesitate! There’s never been a better time to take this important step for your pet’s health. Spaying and neutering your pets can help avoid a variety of medical and behavioral conditions down the line, and reduce the number of homeless animals in our community.
