Welcome to my writing journal! This was created as a sort-of remedy to the fact that everything I've ever written is currently floating around on three websites and four computers, one of which is in another city as of this moment. So this is a way of keeping everything in one place, and this blog is where I [plan to] post everything from 40-odd-hours' worth of fic, to drabbles and poetry scrawled on paper napkins while waiting for my food to arrive. I'm also at a point in my life where conscious effort needs to be made in order to make time for writing, and since I don't ever want to stop writing, having this blog gives me added motivation.
So, hmmmm.
About me: I learned to love writing at six, and in that respect, I can say nothing's changed since then. However, I don't do it for a living; far from it, I'm in graduate school taking up biological physics and working for a Master's and maybe more. I do believe it's a healthy set-up: writing gives me an outlet from hours of equations and technical jargon, while spending time with lasers and microscopes is a good way to relieve writer's block. I'd like to think I am a researcher-by-day, creative-writer-by-night...except, given my propensity to stay at the lab til way past sundown and scribble fic drafts on the back of receipts at breakfast, that wouldn't be a very precise definition at all.
What you'll find here as of now / the near future: some original works, both prose and poetry, and fanfiction. Since I have a bit of a one-track-mind when it comes to things like this (as evidenced by the string of three unfinished fics in three different fandoms on my ff.net account), I'm going to stick to more-or-less one fandom at a time. Currently, that fandom is Code Geass. This may or may not change, but while I'm still into it, I'll see how far this current fangirling takes me. If nothing else, it got me back into writing fanfiction in the first place, so I owe it at least that much credit. I do eventually hope to slowly move away from this self-imposed fandom-monogamy, but that's still some time away.
Anyway no matter how you managed to stumble upon this, my little creative corner in cyberspace, feel free to look around. Pull up a beanie chair, make yourselves at home, all that good stuff. Thanks for reading, and if you find something to your liking (or otherwise), hit me up.
