TeachStart pays many of the upfront costs for Fellows while providing guidance in obtaining certifications and substitute permits when relevant.
Just as every Scoot educator has an assigned Scoot Education Consultant, TeachStart Fellows are also paired with a TeachStart Consultant who helps you through the whole process.
TeachStart Fellows gain experience in real classrooms at our school partners as full-time substitute teachers. Benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance in addition to paid training.
You won’t have to stop earning income while you train or get another degree.
Before starting as a substitute teacher, TeachStart Fellows undergo Foundations Training, a synchronous 5-day training.
Together with your Fellow cohort, you develop the mindset and skills needed to create safe, welcoming classrooms while practicing your ability to work through tough, real-world scenarios.
