F.A.Q
Who can organize a game jam?
Any university, engineering school, training institution, science museum, or association can organize a Scientific Game Jam! The event simply needs to follow a set of shared guidelines for consistency, such as having one scientist per team, being non-profit, running over a weekend, etc. Get in touch with us to go over the details and receive the organizer’s guide.
When should I start organizing my game jam?
Ideally, you should start about 6 months before the planned date by contacting us and beginning the process of securing a date and venue, as well as any potential funding requests. Then, the actual organization can begin about 3 months before the event, including recruiting mentors, jury members, volunteers, and preparing informational and registration materials. Finally, registration should open about 2 months before the event date. If some details (mentors, jury) aren’t finalized yet, that’s okay: you can always announce them later!
