What Our Partners are Saying

We are delighted to partner with Compass, as so many of our colleagues have done. The education and training Compass provides to our school and to the counselor community is invaluable.

Katy Murphy, Director of College CounselingBellarmine College Prep

While we’ve given mock tests for years, Compass led one of the smoothest I’ve seen. The communication and support coupled with the speed of scoring the tests (within days!) made things so easy for our office, and enabled us to develop testing plans for students quickly and thoroughly. Compass guided us through the process step-by-step, customizing the experience to the needs of our community. We’re excited to work with Compass to develop other opportunities for our students to prepare for standardized tests.

Ari Worthman, Director of College CounselingLakeside School

Thank you so much for all of your help, from preparing us to administer the test to getting us the results so quickly. It ran so smoothly that it’s made us feel much better about the shift this fall. It’s been a pleasure working with you on this.

Jennifer Wilson, Director of College CounselingOak Knoll School of the Holy Child

Each year we invite Compass to present to our 10th grade families about college admission testing. These events help our families feel confident, relieved, and well-informed. I am inundated by offers from test prep companies, but I always find myself coming back to Compass.

Canh Oxelson, Executive Director of College CounselingHorace Mann School

We have been working with Compass for over a decade, and I can say without a doubt that they are the best in the business. Everyone on their team is professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. Their well-trained staff handles everything for test day – online signups, friendly proctoring, and efficiently-produced score reports. Our students feel so well-guided in their test-taking needs, leaving us free to focus on our college counseling. Compass offers 5-star excellence, start to finish.

Tania Castro Bradt, Director of College CounselingHead-Royce School

Working with Compass to provide practice testing supports the work that we do with our students as they conduct college research. Having Compass as a partner makes me a better professional and helps my students navigate their testing with confidence and skill.

Gabrielle McColgan, Director of College CounselingCastilleja School

Compass made it incredibly easy for us to seamlessly offer practice SAT tests to our students. The scores came back quickly and their analysis was not only informative, but impactful in more ways than we could have hoped. We are grateful to everyone at Compass for helping us find a better way to manage this process for our kids.

Jazmin Garcia Smith, Co-Director of College CounselingDurham Academy

We have been fortunate to work with Compass for several years. Our initial relationship was developed as we realized they are the preeminent experts on the swiftly-evolving landscape in college admissions testing. Additionally, we now view them as partners in supporting the whole student in their post-secondary aspirations. Our families have used the word “transformational” with regards to Compass’ approach to relationship- and skill-building that develop confidence and reinforce strengths. We recommend Compass to our families without hesitation.

Jessica Monterastelli, Associate Director of College CounselingFriends School of Baltimore

Compass provides excellent admission testing presentations that are well supported by data and expert analysis. Families are able to understand the information, which greatly reduces their level of fear and frustration.

Lianne Musser, College CoordinatorLyons Township High School

We value the expertise that Compass brings to our community. Through thoughtful presentations, visuals, speakers, and publications, Compass shares the most up-to-date information with a strong analysis in a way that is informative and easy to understand. We recommend their services with full confidence.

Valerie Marchand Welsh, Director of College CounselingThe Baldwin School

We are drawn to working with Compass because of their data-centric approach to understanding the complex nuances involved in standardized testing. Whether accessing their online Resource Center, providing free mock SAT/ACT tests to our students, or engaging in exceptionally thorough annual presentations to our school community, Compass has been an invaluable complementary source to our college counseling programming. Senior Director Matty Steiner, and their entire team, are consummate professionals -- Compass has truly raised the bar as a premier test prep operation.

Meg Scott, Former Director of College CounselingThe Agnes Irwin School

Compass is a fabulous partner in our college counseling program, and the sessions we host with Compass are some of our best-attended events of the year. The team members are data wonks yet they deftly transform all of these numbers in the most meaningful, accessible, and engaging way for our families. Our students who opt for test prep through Compass – which was years ahead of the industry with online tutoring – are very happy with the tutors with whom they work.

Cynthia Crum, Former Director of College CounselingEpiscopal Academy

Compass has a knack for unlocking what families perceive to be the mysterious vault of secrets surrounding admission testing. Their engaging presentations and well-researched materials provide digestible information that puts families at ease and sets the tone for productive conversations and sensible steps forward as we support our students in their college planning.

Sally Diehl, Director of College CounselingRoland Park Country School

The experts at Compass Education Group provide a clear voice of reason in the standardized testing industry. With constant changes in the testing landscape, I have confidence that the information they provide *for free* to counselors, students, and families is well-researched, up-to-date, and presented in support of students. Parents and students appreciate Compass' dynamic presentations, full of research-based information to encourage a common-sense and anxiety-reducing approach to standardized testing.

Linda Mathews, Director of College CounselingThe Madeira School

Our parents are simply raving about Compass. Their authentic and cutting edge presentations are fueled by detailed facts and current trends, and done so with grace and understanding for both students and parents. Compass certainly has its finger on the pulse of the standardized testing world.

Tim Doyle, Associate Director of College CounselingSt. Stephens and St. Agnes School

Compass provides testing knowledge and high-quality research shared in an accessible, anxiety-reducing way for audiences from experienced college counselors to families just starting the college process.

Emmi Harward, Executive DirectorACCIS

I'm so impressed with the way Compass has such an outstanding command of the data and research into standardized testing, and I'm even more impressed with how they are able to analyze and demystify that data in a way that students and parents can easily understand. In doing so, they help empower families and do so in a way that is encouraging yet realistic and honest.

Anthony Ambrogi, Director of College CounselingSt. Catherine's School

When students and parents ask me for test prep options, I provide a list. When they ask for recommendations, I provide only one. The directors of Compass are honest, respected, and smart. They are more interested in teaching and guiding than in selling — a refreshing find in test preparation.

Jon Reider, Former Director of College CounselingSan Francisco University High School

We were so impressed with Matt Steiner’s presentation to our parents – great data-driven information, concisely delivered with a nice dose of humor! Parents reported that they appreciated his ability to demystify things and reduce unnecessary anxiety around the whole topic. The professionalism and quality of all Compass does is also evident in their Guide to College Admissions Testing (a wealth of helpful data and wisdom) and in the excellent and timely service they provided during our practice ACT. Top notch experience all the way around!

Sandra Foy, Director of College CounselingSeattle Prep

I like to joke that Compass knows what is going on with the SAT and ACT even before College Board and ACT. Their speakers have an uncanny ability to decipher the ever-changing landscape of standardized testing. But even more importantly, it is their generosity of spirit in sharing this information with communities all over the world which is truly remarkable.

Kathleen Glynn-Sparrow, Former Director of College CounselingMcLean School

Professionalism, expertise, and care: these are the touchstones that our families expect, that we need, and that Compass delivers. From Compass' compelling presentations on the testing landscape (whether in overviews to families or in deeper dives to area counselors), to the staff's deft tailor-making of school-specific online resources, we have been thoroughly impressed with our Compass experience.

Brian Leipheimer, Director of College CounselingCollegiate School

From engaging and expertly delivered presentations to meticulously researched guides and resources, Compass is the most comprehensive and overall most effective test preparation company we have encountered. Most importantly, our students and families now feel empowered in their approach to college admission testing as a direct result of their Compass experience.

Dustin Lynn, Director of College CounselingBattle Ground Academy

Compass is a good fit for the families of Memphis University School. Their philosophy and approach to prep are based on careful analysis of data. Our parents left Compass' presentation better educated and reassured about how to navigate the admission testing process. I trust Compass because their guidance does not come at the cost of a sales pitch.

Zach Hansen, Director of College CounselingMemphis University School

Compass does an exquisite job presenting to our students and parents. As a result, my students are more informed and less anxious about standardized testing.

Rolando Crisostomo, Former Associate Director of College CounselingWoodside Priory School

Compass’ ability to marry clarity and depth of knowledge is a significant asset to the Urban School. Each time Compass presents, I walk away reassured that our students and parents are getting honest, well-researched information about college admission testing. This assurance is confirmed by the waves of appreciative emails I receive from families.

Lauren Gersick, Director of College CounselingThe Urban School of San Francisco

There is no one quite like Compass. Their expertise and analysis of current college admissions testing is simply unparalleled. We are very grateful to have Compass as a partner in educating our families. No one is better at breaking it down into useful, digestible nuggets that could be game-changers. Bruce’s presentation is articulate, exceptionally informative, and entertaining.

Rebecca Threewitt, Director of College CounselingThe King's Academy

Compass not only provides our counselors with research on the latest developments in the increasingly complex world of standardized testing, but they do so with a perspective that is grounded in common sense. Whether they are partnering with us to offer a practice exam for 150+ students or consulting with a family to plan out a test prep strategy, their focus is always on what the customer needs - not what will generate the most revenue for them. Their integrity is as valuable as their expertise.

Tim Egan, Former College CounselorSt. Ignatius College Preparatory

The information sessions that Bruce provides to schools, particularly parents, blow other similar speakers/test prep companies out of the water. The research is detailed and relevant. Bruce is able to deliver the information in a way that is clear but not intimidating. Parents leave his presentations feeling calm, even if they walked in feeling anxiety about the testing process. I feel as though test prep is just one small sliver of what Compass provides. What I have gained through my relationship/work with Compass is a better understanding about the history of testing and trends, as well as the most comprehensive and up to date data.

Dot Kowal, Former Director of College CounselingSonoma Academy

As always, Compass is a great partner. Our students really appreciated the quick turnaround of their scores and the detailed reports that came with them. Our test administration was smooth and seamless.
