What are the SCAV Annual Awards?
SCAV presents awards to those veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, clinic employees, and humanitarians who are recognized for their contributions and service to animals.
What are the nomination categories and criteria?
Presented to the veterinarian who has served SCAV, the community and their fellow veterinarians in such a way as to exemplify the highest ideals of the profession. They must be a current member of SCAV.
2) Distinguished Veterinarian of the Year
Presented to one or more senior veterinarian(s) who has/have served the veterinary profession during the years of his/her/their practice. They must be a current member of SCAV or involved with another veterinary organization.
Presented to a South Carolina licensed veterinary technician, and SCAVT member, who has made outstanding contributions as a professional in the past year.
4) Veterinary Clinic Employee of the Year
Presented to the veterinary clinic employee who has made outstanding contributions of service as an employee of a veterinary clinic who is not licensed in South Carolina as a veterinary technician or as a veterinarian.
5) Humanitarian of the Year
Presented to a veterinarian or non-veterinarian who has been responsible for exemplary contributions to the health and welfare of animals.
Who can nominate someone?
Anyone can nominate someone they feel is deserving that fits the outlined criteria in the respective category.
To nominate someone in any of the above-mentioned categories, please submit at least one letter of nomination, per nominee, highlighting the examples of the nominee’s contributions and deeds that warrant the nomination. Although only one letter of nomination is required, up to 3 maybe submitted for the same nominee. You will need the nominee’s name, phone number and email address.

The Awards committee consists of the SCAV Awards Chair, the SCAV President, and the SCAV Past-President.
