Can't believe it's been what, two years since I was last on here. Definitely think I need to get back into the swing of things, so i'm going to start trying to write little reviews of the shows i'm watching, and if I get time I might even try making icons again, although considering the last time I made one was around the last time I posted I might be a bit rusty lol.

I was bored and roaming livejournal and found something about The Palace and it made me want to watch my DVDs of it all over again (and they're not here so i can't :( ).
I recorded the first few episodes of the show and while they were ok they didn't wow me and I was tempted to stop bothering but as it didn't have all that many episodes I figured I might as well keep going, and then sometime during the next few episodes I fell completely head over heels in love with the show and by about the third to last episode was watching the episodes daily on the ITV website and preordering the DVD as soon as I found it on amazon.
The main reason I fell in love with the show was Abi and Richard and their love that might never be (but as there's no second series I can pretend it all went well). I really wish they'd had a proper kiss though, because the drunken one was so hot I can't imagine what a proper one would have been like.
I loved all the characters in the show because they were all so distinct and played a part, even down to Izzy who I don't think they knew what to do with but when she was around it was good, if a little weird with her popping in an out randomly.
The plot lines were brilliantly over the top, Richard's having an affair with someone working for the prime minister, his brother runs someone over, Eleanor's kinda crazy and obsessed with getting the crown. The Queen Mother is one of my favourite characters because she's played so brilliantly, and her relationship with her servant and her children is so brilliantly not normal I love it.
And this is kinda rambling and well rambling but I can't think straight atm so i'll come back and make more sense of it later.

Here are my first batch of icons in about two years. I've been entering a whole load of icontests (see my profile page for list and resources), and it's been a long time since i've tried to make anything so they're not great, but hopefully i'm getting better as I go.

I don't remember quite where I first saw the advertising for Demons, probably on a website somewhere. Anyway I did a little digging and thought it sounded a very interesting show with a fascinating premise, even if the thought of Philip Glenister doing an American accent scared me from the get go. How wrong I was (apart from the accent, that did scare me for quite a while).

I am now rather inspired to write a brief overview of how I would have done Demons. And then maybe make it into a series of novels and make a fortune. If they’re willing to pay to show this stuff, my writing wouldn’t exactly have to be world class to improve on it.
