I am Sara Jakša (sarajaksa@sarajaksa.eu) , and this is my website.
Who I am / About me
Location
- Current location: Ljubljana (Slovenia)
- Planned trips: None
- Planned time without the internet: None
Introduction
*Waiving here* Sara (any/she) here. You can feed me stories, interesting facts (from linguistics and history to physics), and daydreams. And fanfiction, that is currently my big interest (expecially if it is Sherlock Holmes related, even more if it is Yuumori). I very rarely bite.
I am a woman in 30s, living in Ljubljana. In real life, you can find me on some tech meetups and queer events. Currently I also dance at TEJ Dance and play go at the local library. Occasionally I will pop out in different library events, university lectures, language cafe, dancing or board game events. Always up for a walk, if anybody wants to invite me.
Now
In December, based on how it started, I am cleaning up my TODOs, that I have procrastinated on for a while. Otherwise December is usually a time for me to relax, which means that I probably won't be starting any new projects.

In person, I would consider myself part of these communities:
- Go playing

- Queer and a-spec
- Women programmers
- Python community
- Tech community Ljubljana
In the past, I considered myself part of these in-person communities:

Interests
I have seen the Frances' list of interests and I figured it might he helpful to list of them them as here on the website as well.
- A-spec (asexuality and aromanticism) and queerness
- Go playing
- Dancing
- Language learning
- Fanfiction
- Cognitive science
- Public speaking (former Toastmasters member, tech public speaker and had one stand up comedy)
- Reading
- Anime / manga / light novels
- Sherlock Holmes
- Writing
- Women in tech
- Sustanability
- Minimalism
- History (with very uneven knowledge)
- Slovenian history and politics

I am sure I missed many of them, and I don't consider this list definitive. The problem I have is that I am very easy excitable for a lot of things. The upper ones ar least stayed with me for multiple years.
About this site
Short philosophy of my site
This site is a work in progress. It is one small part to have an online presence, and a bigger part to force myself to sometimes actually sent in the public the stuff, that is not yet finished. It started by having a conversation one evening at the cafe, which was more like dare or encouragement then with any specific goal.

RSS feed or how to follow me
If you want to follow me, you can always subscribe to one of my RSS feeds.
Language
The note about the post languages, my native language is Slovenian and I think I am fairly fluent in English. Every other language is something I am still learning and therefore probably have a lot of mistakes that I would not see even when re-reading it.
Spoiler policy
My spoiler policy is, that I don't care abut spoilers. They are not going to be marked or hidden and I will not warn for them.
NSFW (Not Safe for Work) Policy
I am a type of person that announced my asexuality on the stage of Python conference, did standup comedy, presented the fanfiction talk at work first, which at the time still mentioned omegaverse. Mentioned things like omorashi and vore at work before and I write occasional smut (even when I am more of a gen writer) on the blog under the name I use in offline life, that I know some people at work occasionally read.
I don't think I understand what NSFW means for normal people. Making the only reasonable policy that it is probably present and not warned for.
How to link to my site or cite it
As inspired by the James' example.
I don't have a strong preference to how I am called - when people in person comment that they are not good with names, I always reply that I don't care if they call me any name they want, from Marija or Franc and I mean it. If you don't want to expend the energy to decide, then using my actual name Sara is always a good choice.
I also don't have the preference for the pronouns or the gender of the language used for me - use whatever you want. She, he, they, it, or any of the neopronouns work for me as do any genders for the languages I know. For myself in Slovenian, I used the mixture of female with some men language thrown in some circumstances (in Slovenian one can skip pronouns, but we indicate a gender with each verb and adjective, where we decide between the equivalents of she, he and it). In English I use the mixture of she and they. In Japanese, I like to use 俺 for myself, with occasional 私 when trying to be more polite, without preference to how other people refer to me.
If you are linking to me to indicate that you are talking about me, then I prefer if you linked to this domain and not any of the other profiles that I might have on the web. (I won't be angry if you don't though) For the academic citing, please use me full name: Sara Jakša.
Links or description of other people
If you want me to remove a link to you or if you think you recognise yourself and want me to reword that part, send me an email and I will make sure to amend it.
(Anti-)AI Statement
All my work included in this website does not involve any involvement of any addictive brain-destroying plagiarism machine, in any part of it.
When writing in the language I am not fluent at, I sometimes use the machine translation to check the text that I had written. Which means that I will put my text and check if the translation makes sense and change my text based on that. None of my published words are machine translated.
For the works of other people, like quotes from other sites, static site generator that I am using or what my host provider is using, I didn't do any checks if some of them are machine generated.

I am mostly using a phone to communicate with my family member. So I give my phone number only to people, that I already know and I see it would solve a specific problem. Otherwise I don't give it up. You will have to accept, that I am not sharing it and I will attack anybody giving it to other people with a paper fan.
Ways of Communicating
I am always open for any kind of contact. I am also the type of person, that will explicitly tell, if I find somebody annoying. Even then I won't be insulted by it.
I like the it means that other people don't have to worry about whether they are insulting you of the Crocker's Rules (copied from bacardi55). You can assume this to be true.
My cadence tends to be slower than the social media one. If I did not answer you, then it is on me. Usually it is because I don't have energy, I did not see it yet (I use my vacations from work to be internet-free, in which case it can take weeks for me to see it), or I don't yet know what to answer. I know it does not feel like it, but it is always my fault, so don't take it to your heart.
How to start the conversation with me
If you want to start a conversation, you can always ask any of the below questions (copied the idea from Marr):
- What have you been reading?
- What problem are you thinking about?
- What did you recently learned?
- Any fanfiction ideas you are working on?
- What non-computer hobby are you trying this time? (probably go and dancing, but I might surprise you)
Or start with just a random observations you had - I really like learning about almost anything. Or any questions that you have. I have high three digits posts and I am usually up to talking about the things from years ago.
I am also open to any kind of co-creating suggestions. If you want us to cowrite something, I am usually up for it.
