Valuing the Work in Fanwork and I'm Tired of Shakespeare are EXCELLENT essays that sum up my feelings about fanwork and fan culture. YAY for fellow fans who articulate better than I do! (And, uh, capitalism stole my virginity! *g*)

Friends

For the obligatory friending policy: I used to be almost entirely unlocked, but now that I have gone semi-public, not much has really changed. Feel free to friend me whenever, the only thing that I request is that if you want me to friend you back, please drop me a line here. I don't read on a filter and I try to interact with everyone who has me mutually friended. I might not comment on every post every day, or read them all thoroughly, but I do make an honest attempt to be a "friend" or at least friendly with everyone. So if I don't friend you back, it is because I only have so much time in the day!

If I do friend you back, I started out as a lurker, and I always will be a lurker to a certain extent, so I won't push you to interact with me any more than you feel comfy with. If I randomly friend you without a word, it is those lurkish tendancies resurfacing. If you friend me back, I'll probably try to get to know you better, and if you don't, then don't worry - I am a friendly sort of lurker who doesn't make much noise, promise!
