Starting around 1981–1983 (Cessna 172P)

Cessna introduced various design changes, including the switch to side-mounted fuel senders.
This coincided with changes to the wet-wing tank design—often tied to improved fuel-system sealing, maintenance access, and float travel range.

Anomalies (1984–1986 172P)

Several models are documented still with top-mounted senders, depending on production run, specific tank part numbers, and optional factory configurations.
There was no perfectly clean cutoff—some production overlap occurred.

Note: Always check your aircraft’s specific tank and sender configuration before ordering parts for Cessna 172 models in the 1981–1986 year range.

Beechcraft Baron fuel sender configurations vary by aircraft

Some Baron aircraft use a total of 8 fuel senders.
Some Baron aircraft use a total of 6 fuel senders.
Some Baron aircraft use only 4 fuel senders.

Before selecting a configuration

Do not assume the sender count based only on the aircraft model name.
Baron configurations can differ depending on model, year, fuel tank arrangement, optional equipment, and prior aircraft modifications.
Verify the actual number of fuel senders installed before choosing a dropdown option.

Note: Always check your aircraft’s specific fuel tank and sender configuration before ordering parts for Beechcraft Baron aircraft. Selecting the wrong configuration may result in an incorrect sender kit.

Warranty and Return Policy

CiES Inc. warrants all parts in your new fuel level transducers to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use. Our warranty is limited to repair or exchange for the original purchaser. Part(s) must be returned, shipping prepaid, within five years of the original purchase date. Installation labor is the responsibility of the aircraft owner.

Under this warranty, CiES is not responsible for any service charges, including removal, installation, nor any other consequential damages. This warranty is void on any product which has been subject to misuse, accident or damage caused by negligence. This may include miswiring or altering the units without the written guidance of a member of the CiES team. Upon inspection of returned units, CiES will determine if any of the aforementioned inconsistencies are found to be the cause of failure and charge accordingly for refurbishment.

Most issues present during the install can be avoided by strict adherence to our current installation manual. If you have further questions about installation, they can be solved by our friendly team of technical support specialists. If our specialists are unable to solve the installation issue, they will provide an RMA Work Order for returning your units. This number must be present outside and inside your package. If the cause of failure is determined to be the result of manufacturing defects or workmanship, your units will be shipped expedited to the address found on the RMA work order at no cost to you. If the failure is a result of misuse or negligence from the installer, the units will be shipped back at the speed you requested and billed to the customer named on the RMA work order.

For uninstalled, unaltered, new parts returned to stock, CiES will charge a flat $20 restocking fee per unit.
