About Us

San Antonio Furry Events (S.A.F.E.)

Bringing the Alamo City’s furry community together—safely, locally, and with heart.

Who we are

S.A.F.E. is a volunteer-run community that organizes and promotes furry meetups, photo nights, creative collabs, and casual hangouts across San Antonio and the surrounding area. We honor the city’s welcoming spirit—showing up on time, treating venues with respect, and making sure everyone feels looked after from hello to goodbye.

Our mission

    • Build community: make it easy for furries and friends to meet, create, and support one another.

    • Keep it safe: clear expectations, consent-first culture, and well-run events.

    • Celebrate the craft: fursuiting, photography, art, writing, making—old-school etiquette with modern flair.

    • Support local: partner with San Antonio venues, parks, and businesses whenever we can.

What we do

    • Meetups & socials: park hangs, coffee shop chats, museum and attraction nights.

    • Photo & creator events: themed shoots, lighting demos, skill-share sessions.

    • Family-friendly outings: clearly labeled when all-ages.

    • Community support: charity drives, collaborative events with local groups.

    • Seasonal highlights: holiday gatherings, con warm-ups, and special pop-ups.

Safety, consent & cameras (the S.A.F.E. promise)

    • Ask first. Photos, hugs, and suit touches are always opt-in.

    • Badges & signals. Respect Do-Not-Photo or “no face” requests.

    • Clear zones. We designate photo spots and quiet/cool-down areas when possible.

    • Report issues. Find an organizer or DM us—problems are handled promptly and privately.

    • Venue rules matter. We follow house rules, stay tidy, and leave spaces better than we found them.

Accessibility & inclusion

We aim to make events accessible, welcoming, and predictable:

    • Venue notes in advance (parking, ramps, restrooms, A/C).

    • Buddy system on request; cool-down breaks encouraged.

    • We enforce a zero-harassment policy—period.

How our events work

    • Announcements & RSVP: posted in our Telegram/website with date, time, location, and any costs.

    • Check-in: find the S.A.F.E. lead at arrival; grab guidelines if you’re new.

    • Photography: follow the consent rules; model/photographer credits encouraged.

    • Costs: many events are free or low-cost; ticketed nights will be clearly marked.

Volunteer & partner with us

    • Volunteers: greeters, safety spotters, photographers, and logistics helpers—training provided.

    • Venues/brands: we’re punctual, organized, and community-minded. Let’s plan a responsible, photogenic event that respects your space.
