Safe Sitter® is known for its flagship babysitting program for middle school students, but it also offers additional programs to build communities where every child can be safe.

Safe Sitter® Programs

To train as a Safe Sitter® Instructor, you must be certified in CPR and have access to CPR manikins.

Summary

  • The Safe Sitter® Babysitting Course is the flagship program for students in grades 6–8, with 10+ hours of available curriculum and a required 4-hour core. It must be taught by a certified Safe Sitter® Instructor.
  • Safe@Home is a 90-minute program for grades 4–6 focused on home-alone safety and emergency response. It can be taught by any qualified adult facilitator or a Safe Sitter® Instructor.
  • Intro to Safe Babysitting is a 60-minute introductory program for grades 6–8 covering child care basics. No Instructor Certification is required — any adult facilitator can teach it.
  • Grandparents: Getting Started is a 3-hour program for adult participants that covers current child care practices, first aid, and how to support the families they help. It must be taught by a certified Safe Sitter® Instructor.
  • To teach the Safe Sitter® Babysitting Course or Grandparents: Getting Started, Instructors must hold a current CPR certification and have access to infant and child CPR manikins.
