Pictures : This Townsend’s Warbler was nice enough to grace my feeder area for a brief moment yesterday. What a beautiful bird.
Of course he/she had to drink the dirtiest water he/she could find.
I have always wanted to go down to the Gulf Coast and watch the migrating birds one spring or one fall or maybe both. Especially the Warblers. I doubt that I’ll ever get to, but I think that would be a joy.
Friend : I have a friend visiting today from Illinois, always great to see friends!
Folks have a fine day.
It is. That’s a lovely photo of it too. I noticed two White-crown Sparrows in my yard this morning. Winter migration is on!

Thank you, Deborah. Nice to see the migrating birds past by. I never know what will show up.

I love the Townsend’s warbler, but usually they are difficult to see because they don’t sit long. This photo is wonderful, nice and close, captured his incredible beauty. I made a trip to the Gulf Coast one year for the warbler migration. But that particular year there was no fall out and we saw almost nothing. We got bit by so many mosquitoes and saw so few birds that we aborted and went to Galveston. ha. Cheers John!

Thanks, Jet. I think I am lucky that I have a little water out in an area where water is not available in too many spots.
Oh wow, I would be totally upset if I went to the golf Coast and didn’t see a great bunch of birds, especially if that’s what I went for! It’s good to know when to throw in a towel on a thing, and get off to doing something else fun!

Yes, and we had great fun in Galveston so it was a success above all. Cheers to providing water for the birds especially where it is not easily available.
