Caution When Using a Fibre Laser Cleaner
Handle Fibre Components with Extreme Care
- Fibre Optic Cord and Components: Handle the fibre optic cord and components with extreme care. Bending or applying force to these components can cause the glass inside to shatter, leading to irreversible damage.
- Damage and Replacement: Damaged cords or components result in trapped or leaking laser power, preventing the machine from functioning. Repairs can only be done by the original manufacturer and are costly and time-consuming. Note that such damages are not covered by the warranty.
Protect Your Fiber Laser from Dust
- Lens Care: Lenses are consumables that need to be replaced when damaged. Failure to do so may cause other components to melt, voiding any warranty for such damages.
- Clean Environment: Always ensure the environment is clean when exchanging lenses. Never touch lenses with your hands; use lens wipes instead.
- Laser Power Supply Connector: During torch changes, make the process swift and in a clean environment. Avoid removing any bolts, screws, or nuts not mentioned in the video guide.
- Dust-Free Air: Dust is a significant problem for optical systems. Ensure a dust-free and dry air supply of 4 bar for all applications, and cap any outlet when the air is off.
Care & Maintenance of a Fibre Laser Cleaner
Pure, Clean, Cold Compressed Air Quality is Key
For optimal performance and longevity of your laser lens, it’s crucial to use compressed air with a refrigerated air dryer. This setup is necessary to maintain a specific flow rate of 40L/m, a Dew Point below 3°C, and a pressure of 4 Bar. Consequences of Poor Air Quality
To ensure the longevity of your fiber laser cleaning system, it’s crucial to have a clean air source. Using up to a 15 bar compressor with a dryer can significantly extend the lifespan of your system.
If the air quality is poor, the torch may burn out over the course of a year, requiring replacement or reconditioning. This can also necessitate frequent lens and motor replacements. When the torch is changed, it increases the likelihood of needing to replace the laser source lens as well.
Change Protective Lenses after heavy use
Regularly changing the lenses, such as the L-LENS-QUARTZ/30/2, is also essential. Aim to replace the lenses one or two times a week.

What materials can be cleaned with The RustOFF™ System
RustOFF™ uses a pulse-wave fibre laser, that can evaporate various rusted, oxidised, painted, or anodised layers. It can also remove oily dirty surfaces etc.
RustOFF™ is a cleaning system designed for metal surfaces. Other material surfaces may also work but your cleaning result may vary.
While RustOFF™ is powerful, it’s important to note that it has its limitations. For instance, it can remove prints from cardboard surfaces, but it cannot remove ink that has been absorbed by the cardboard itself.
Each model offers varying output wattage. Each model has specific strengths and features that affect the speed and efficiency you can work at.

What model of RustOFF™ would be best suited for me?
Feature-wise, all RustOFF™ models offers the same, the biggest difference is the output power.
Generally speaking, as you increase the output power, you decrease the time needed to work time to clean a surface.
So, choose higher output power if you can afford. Choose lower power if you don’t need the machine often.
How are these CNC Products Shipped / Delivered?
We have stock at our warehouse in Gauteng, and we courier from here via a shipping company as with any of our other machines and products.
You are also welcome to come have a coffee, at our new Sunnyrock headquarters and collect in person Gauteng.
