Description: The RPK internship program intends to give students and recent graduates the opportunity to enhance their civic education, provide real-world political and campaign experience, and develop a deeper understanding of Kentucky politics and party organization. Interns will work with RPK staff, county party leaders, elected officials, and political candidates on projects related to research, fundraising, communications, data, and more. Applicants must be ready for a demanding, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment.
Internships are available year-round. While there are no designated periods for internships, we typically prefer applicants be prepared to intern for a minimum of three months. While flexible scheduling and hours are available, an intern during the summer should expect to work at least 20 hours per week, and an intern during the academic year should expect to work at least 10 hours per week. Depending on availability and location, internships will be offered as a remote opportunity for individuals living further away from Frankfort and in-house internships for those able to travel to our Frankfort headquarters.
Qualifications: A successful applicant will have a positive attitude, an ability to meet project deadlines, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. They will also be responsible, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. We encourage students of all academic fields to apply; opportunities are available for both high-school and college students with a strong work ethic and passion for conservative politics.
Qualified applicants will be selected to move forward with an interview, and exceptional interviewees will be selected for the internship.
