Our staff — from sales reps to service techs and support staff — are located all over the U.S. and the one thing we have in common right now, aside from our continued commitment to advancing clean alternative fuels, is that we’re seeing increasing fuel costs at gas stations all around the country.
Earlier this year, Potomac Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., announced the launch of an $11.1 million five-year pilot program to deploy 28 electric buses across seven counties in western Maryland. The goal of the project is to help school districts meet Maryland’s Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022, which requires public schools to operate zero-emission vehicles.
With decades of experience in student transportation, we, too, are invested in clean, low-emission school bus options. But, there are 1 million public school students traveling millions of miles to Maryland’s 1,400 schools each day, and we respectfully question the value and long-term impact of Potomac Edison’s investment.
At ROUSH CleanTech, our work is grounded in trust, quality, innovation and American values. As our team talks with school districts, transit agencies and postal service contractors operating propane vehicles, we see more and more that, in the midst of rapidly changing global and domestic events, they can continue to depend on the real solution we’re providing through advanced propane engine technology.
In the midst of one of the most extreme winters in recent memory, with millions of Americans are facing sub-zero temperatures, many public and private businesses are reminded that not all transportation technology can withstand the demands of harsh winter weather.
The United States is approaching its 250th anniversary this Fourth of July. It makes me reflect on our nation’s history, which has been defined by innovation and a drive for a stronger, more independent nation. This spirit continues today within ROUSH CleanTech and in our country’s pursuit of clean, domestic transportation fuel solutions. Propane autogas stands out as a powerful, American-made fuel ready to power our country’s fleet vehicles into its next chapter, delivering on our shared goals for both environmental health and energy security.
As 2025 comes to a close, we’d like to take a look back on ROUSH CleanTech’s key highlights. These milestones could only be reached because of our valued employees, partners and customers. So, I’ll start with thanking you for a great year!
Happy Veterans Day! I’d like to thank our nation’s military veterans for their service, especially those who work at ROUSH and in the propane and transportation industries.
The 15th anniversary is traditionally marked with crystal, symbolizing transparency, clarity and brilliance — qualities that perfectly reflect what we’re celebrating this month at ROUSH CleanTech. For 15 years, we’ve built a foundation of transparency in our operations, clarity in our products, and enduring relationships with our customers and partners. This milestone is not just about the years — it’s about the journey, the people and the progress that have brought us here.
As public entities, transit agencies have a big job: connect people, jobs and communities via safe modes of transportation. With finite, government-funded budgets, these organizations must be judicious in how they maximize fixed operational dollars while also doing mission-critical work. For over 15 years, we’ve seen a growing and important trend in the transit industry: adopting propane buses as a valuable way to save operational funds.
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Women in Propane Planning Retreat in Portland, Maine, and I’m thrilled about what’s ahead for our industry. Women in Propane (WIP) Council, an initiative of the National Propane Gas Association, was founded in 2012 to support the advancement and success of women in the propane industry. Through mentorship, networking and professional development, Women in Propane fosters a more inclusive propane industry for all industry professionals.
