I am greatful to have been raised on a farm in the midwest, the oldest of six children. We lived off of the land and didn't even realize that we were organic. We raised cattle, pigs and chickens and grew their food, used their manure for spreading on fields and gardens. In the late summer we were busy canning and freezing the bountiful harvest for wintertime. We were rarely sick and rarely visited an Allopathic Dr as my mother was a microbiologist that worked with the pathologist at our local small hospital and she was put off with their practice of medicine to say the least. Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end. And now I am an woman of 71 years young with three sons, daughter in laws and ten grandchildren using herbs, essential oils, and other supplements along with health giving food. Thanks for sharing your lifestyle, ideas and the joys of being human in our day.

Wow. It must be truly amazing now - looking back at all those little choices you and your family has made through the years, that has now brought you so much joy, abundance, and most important of all - perspective.

Any herb you like this time of year for sinus congestion? I am seeing a lot of people coming down with this.

Eucalyptus globulus, Frankincense, pine, peppermint , rosemary, wintergreen, or lemon to name a few good ones. Use them to inhale and spread on the bottom of your feet by diluting with coconut oil or other vegetable oils. We use alot of essential oils but I do use an Essential Oils Desk Reference and for children it's best to dilute, supervise and keep away from eyes as essential oils are very powerful and can cause irritations. Using a steam inhaler made for the use of essential oils is the best method in my opinion.
