Hey... This guy was supposed to be for crack, but then my brain went and came up with a tragic backstory so cool I just had to roll with it.
Y'know that soap opera disease that Specialverse!Giovanni has? Well... In this Gameverse!AU, he's not the one who has that. The one with the soap opera disease was Bitty!Silver. Weak constitution, prone to collapsing, the works. All that until, at the age of five, Silver was bedridden and near the end of his life.
But Giovanni wouldn't have any of that, now would he? He promised both Silver and himself that he would find a way to save Silver.
So MadScientist!Giovanni worked hard for two years on Silver. He made a robotic body for Silver, each piece extended Silver's life by a little longer, enough time to get the next piece into place. Now, Silver is essentially a computer with a human brain inside.
However, the robotic body isn't complete. It's running down, slowly losing all the memory and data it had stored. The hard disk is slowly but surely being wiped, and when that happens, it won't be able to connect to Silver's brain anymore. That which makes him "Silver" will die. The robot will live on, but he still won't be "Silver".
In order to overcome this problem, MadScientist!Giovanni worked on better, more advanced robotic bodies Silver could use, ones that wouldn't run down. Or at least, that was the plan. But then, one of the robots he was working on opened its eyes and said, "Father? Is that you?"
That destroyed everything for Silver. His father had unwittingly created not only perfect bodies, but perfect AI programs for them as well. After finishing the male version of this robot, he created a female. He named his new children, "Gold" and "Crystal". Silver, the failed project, was all but forgotten.
Gold and Crystal never noticed him, Giovanni never paid attention to him. He never remembered his promise to create a body for Silver that wouldn't run down.
So when Silver saw that Giovanni was sending his two younger "children" to New Bark Town to receive their first Pokemon... He went, too. No one stopped him. No one cared. However, he didn't have parental permission to receive his first Pokemon, so he was rejected.
So what did he do? He stole his starter. A Cyndaquil. And then and there, he pledged that both of his "siblings" would be his rivals. Giovanni was no father of his, and he was a lifeless machine. He had no heart, only the brain of a human to give him personality.
Notes:
~ He has a lot of games saved on his hard drive, so he may switch to playing one of them if nothing he cares about is going on.
~ Golds, Hibikis, Ethans, Kotones, Lyras, and Souls will be punched indiscriminately.
~ He's made of metal.
~ He has those cool hologram touch screens that he can pull out at any time since he's the computer and they're just part of his programming.
~ He still sorta has the soap opera disease in that his hard drive is slowly being wiped.
~ He doesn't care about anything much, emotions are just programs to him.
