Reflections: The Light Within
New works by Luvon sheppard
In his newest plein air series, Luvon Sheppard explores serene scenes along the Erie Canal, showcasing the historical infrastructure of the region with a soft, natural gaze. This exhibit includes featured paintings by Sheppard’s friend and colleague, Steve Hill.

About the exhibit
Rooted in decades of painting, teaching, and building community, Luvon Sheppard’s work carries wisdom quietly and powerfully. Reflections is a journey through spaces both familiar and new, external and internal. A walk through it is like standing before nature and asking: What part of me lives here, too?
In his newest plein air series, Reflections: The Light Within, Sheppard invites us into the still, sacred space where outer landscape meets inner life. Trees, rivers, porches, and skies are more than subjects–they become mirrors of memory, spirit, and self. Each painting is a meditation, drawn from real places and remembered feelings. Through layers of color and light, Sheppard reflects not only what he sees, but what he knows: that art is a conversation between the world and the soul.
