Local Impact: Rhode Island Lawmakers Recognize Ronald McDonald House & McDonald’s
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Kathy Fogarty State Representative District 35 had special guests at today’s House session: David Balducci and Joseph Spadea, who are owners and operators of McDonald’s locations in Rhode Island, along with Lauren Hoops-Schmeig, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of New England, and Elena Margolis, the State and Local Government Relations Director for McDonald’s in Rhode Island.
The guests brought Shamrock Shakes for House members and staff. As Rep. Fogarty explained, “McDonald’s proudly donates a portion of the sales of their Shamrock Shakes to the Ronald McDonald House in Providence…Each year, nearly 300 families stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Providence, and an additional 1,900 people enjoy the comforts of the Family Room every year.”
