How might we organise risk sharing and compliance management differently within international development and humanitarian actions in ways that are more effective, trust-based, empowering, and equitable?
The prototyping team set out to co-construct partnerships of genuine solidarity where risk is shared and continuously navigated and negotiated by all stakeholders. To do this, they tested how ‘brave encounters’ between donors, international intermediaries and local NGOs could lead to a new system of risk management and compliance that disrupts the existing power imbalance in the sector by looking beyond the needs of the dominant or more powerful actors.
