When Wrong Becomes Offensive: shades of political theory gone awry

Preface: personally, I found the more informed I become on both history and politics the more conservative at the core I became. I started out being a less informed Goldwater conservative. That s my own perspective view.

This is in the vain of Jefferson’s statement that if it neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg, it does me no injury. Then what reason should I be offended?  But over the years it has done both to me, while some injuries are physical, many are mental offenses which defy reason and real accountability. That’s the nuanced way to say it all matters. Thus, we rightfully have many reasons to be offended by establishment big-government schemes.

In fact it used to be liberal was akin to being conservative. It was Classical Liberalism. But Democrats adopted the liberal moniker as a way to bury the Marxist/communist label. It worked but in doing so they ruined the term liberal. What of those people who still hold the “classical liberal” views? They were marginalized and sacrificed.

Today the correct term would be they fit in the conservative camp. Maybe not Republicans per say, however more aligned with them than any others. (whether they realized it or not)

Now, today, there is a common misconception spread far and wide in the country perpetrated by the left and its media comrades, that the intellectuals and smarter people are predominantly liberal Democrats. It also posits that conservatives are somehow less educated, non-educated or dumb. Therefore their views should be dismissed — even ridiculed and attacked. That conservatives don’t know what they’re talking about.

This idea has festered over years to the surprising acceptance of even some Republicans. So as this false narrative would have it then, the more intelligent you become the more establishment ‘liberal’-minded you must be. Which basically means to politically align with Democrats’ big-government political views on most issues. Of course this is the left’s narrative, not mine. That also asserts the more academically degreed one is, the more inclined he/she is to be co-opted by the Left to support the establishment status quo.

There is a great example in history that shows the error of this notion, theoretically and in reality. In other words, their political theory (shall we call it to be generous) never was true but yet another concoction of the Left’s political narrative. You see this talking point used rampantly now to the point even pollsters assume it has validity.

I want to expose that as the ignorant canard it is. Back to examples, there is a good one pre-revolution in one family. Samuel Adams is well known as being a father of the Sons of Liberty. Rightfully he is known as a radical. John Adams is known and respected for being (much more than Sam) an intellectual and well-versed on Constitutional principles.

Before the revolution, of course the resistance led by Samuel Adams was strong.  While John Adams even defended some British redcoats from the Boston Massacre. And he did so successfully getting their actions labeled as self-defense. Now before you go nuts on that, consider the King’s army only looked for one of the smartest attorneys to defend their charges in the trial. (as everyone deserves fair trial)  John Adams was no slouch there.

But after that he saw the folly of supporting the King’s treatment of the colonies growing to side with the Samuel Adams resistance movement into being a fierce proponent for it, even in Congress, to eventually select George Washington to head the fledgling military. Of course Washington was already a strong proponent for the resistance.

So the experience and intellectual capacity of Adams evolved into a radical proponent for the independence. He changed is earlier views; and when he did Adams saw the dangerous threat the British crown really was to people and their laws. He also determined what the King and his army were doing to the colonies went against English common law.

He got to that perspective from reason and fact. (something the left rarely uses now, if even sparingly) But in the end he was fully behind the resistance movement, in fact and law. Just that Samuel, the intellectual inferior was there much earlier and never swayed. He saw the threat and danger looming all along. John was an early skeptic of it.

Now you have the example that intelligence does not necessarily lead one to the leftist establishment, big-government camp. But actually, intellect can make the exact counter-case against it. Sometimes intellectuals are its fiercest opponents.

A modern example would be JD Vance, the Senator from Ohio.

If you remember years ago before being Senator, the left thought they had found a great ally in Vance, promoting his *book on CNN and liberal media. They assumed, surely this academic guy is with us and will be a great asset against stupid conservative Republicans. It didn’t quite work out that way. Soon they began dropping their fawning of Vance. He no longer fit Democrats’ false intellectualism narrative.

In fact, if you follow the extension of Democrats’ argument about intelligence all the way back to the revolution, then it must have been all the dumb and stupid people in the colonies who are responsible for our independence. Thanks to the dummies the Fourth of July exists at all.

As Reagan said in a Time for Choosing: “Well, the problem with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant, it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”

Sometimes people can be late to the party, and that delay does make a difference. But once there, everyone is on exactly the same page.  The Constitution still matters. The first, fourth, fifth and fourteenth amendments matter. Justice and rule of law matter. They are not all up to the king’s discretion, at the altar of almighty government.

But what the plantation nation of the left insinuates is that we are not all created equal; and have no unalienable rights which cannot be restricted or eliminated by the tyrannical state, or selectively doled out for power and political votes. Big Bro doesn’t hold the key to your rights, but was created to secure them – not limit them.

It Is Not A Design Failure

What we learned in the last year is how quickly the whole thing can go down. And that all it really takes is a few aligned contributing factors. Our enemies have been plotting for decades what we now are doing and allowing ourselves.

Despite all the talk, this is not about race relations in America. It is about relations, but about the relationship between the people and the government.

Cue the Declaration of Independence:

“We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed….”

The important part for this purpose is Governments are instituted to secure these rights. But what happens when Government is no longer interested in securing our rights, for whatever reasons, or has other more important priorities instead?

Things go downhill fast.

We can get to the point where Government (if you can call it that) refuses to do anything to protect the safety and security of the people. In fact, it could get to where its entire agenda is to not protect  the people and ignore the will of the people. Imagine that? Right, we don’t have to because we are just about there.

That sort of knocks the legs out from under any real justice. But isn’t that what we have? Only it is not a matter of race. We will all be punished when it cannot manage real justice. Things go downhill from there. There are enough people now who don’t want justice and don’t care. But I wouldn’t trust any polls on that. And you know that based on what they do want, what they say and their agenda. It doesn’t matter if they scream about it and democracy. They want neither. Their objective seems to be no justice for all.

So where does a country go when that all happens? I can tell you it is a horrible place. Earlier in life, I had thought there was no chance of this scenario as long as some people would not allow it. Well, guess what?

I don’t like being wrong but I was. It can happen despite all that. The funny part is I don’t think Government will be too happy about the results in the end either.

The First And Last Responders

I apologize in advance for the rant but it cannot be helped, it is necessary. I have two main points if I can make them adequately. Words and language have their own limitations.

I am sick and tired of the attitude of some leaders on the right – well-intentioned as they may be. Stop treating this like it is all some unavoidable accident. All this is not a mistake. It is an intentional agenda.

We cannot act like it is an incompetence problem when radical leftists want to impose these circumstances on us. It is not fate or coincidence.

What we are witnessing is the fabric of the country being torn apart in a radical rage but they are fully aware in what they do. That is the entire point of it. So top treating it like a series of mistakes. You know, the border, the defunding police, the green new deal, court packing, surveillance, all kinds of control. It is a sustained, systematic, targeted attempt to destroy the fabric of the country, what holds it together.

 

Something else: they are trying to ignite a race war in the country. Let’s be clear about that too. They are part way there already. Maybe we cannot stop what they are hell-bent on inciting. Oh, but that too is intentional.

It makes me livid watching people like Lindsey Graham or others act as if this were all by horrible mistake. Face it. Call it out for what it is. Tell everyone what they are intentionally doing. Confront them on intentions. Let’s not kid ourselves about phony objectives.

Don’t be reluctant using criticism of their decision-making or faulty positions on issues. Can’t we all hear the silence on the left about these “problems” or the chaos that follows? This is their agenda.

 

It is not misplacing or misappropriating power, it is the abuse of it. But they know what they are doing. It is not a matter of informing them of the problems. They are the problem. So stop kidding people about the objectives when they are very clear.

We know we are in a pickle, we know why. It is because the left will refuse course correction because they will not change their radical direction. It is not a matter of pressure on them either.

So stop with the accident treatment. Stop just screaming at the arsonist to put down the flame thrower. Who should we call? There is no 911 to call, no sheriff, no courts will answer the call. Even the Supreme Court refuses to respond. No one is coming to our aid; no one is going to stop or prevent it all. No one is coming to the rescue.

We the people are on our own. It’s all up to us now.

We are the only responders, And that’s all there is. We’re it.

Never Underestimate The Crowd

On this blog, over a decade, I talked about the gambit from a New Green Deal to the Declaration, from Washington and Payne to Obama. Maybe I have not talked about the perpetual engine; space or nuclear holocaust but I have hit most political themes of the times. And after all, politics is front and center, so we see confirmed daily.

But of all the political maneuvering and shenanigans, I would’ve thought it would take someone smarter and more sinister than Biden to affect the country the way this wrought rolling out is. Not to be naïve, I thought it may take a more conniving nature than Biden to get to the synchronized level the Left is now. So was I wrong? No, not really.  

I just underestimated the crowd or what a driven mob could do. One more thing. I underestimated the lack of resistance, or public outrage. The mob is a powerful force but it could not do this on its own. It takes people to let down their guard, allow it and/or have powerful allies to push their agenda. Finally, they seem to have gotten most of that.

 

Now comes the irony.  (not that I’m giving in or ceding any ground to this sick evil) Joe Biden is the quintessential proof that the mob can be effective; so much so that it uses a dummy resident in the oval office as a front man for it. Old progressive Joe did not have to lose all his marbles, He just has to stand there and let the crowd do its evil magic.

A good friend reminded me that, after Trump, this is a giant tragedy, like one of the great Greek tragedies. It’s like that macabre play meant to bother you while at the same time a work of fiction. However, this one is real. It is all too real. And the consequences are huge, but can it be prevented? That is where my stomach drops in this tragedy.

Securing Liberty

That one beautiful sentence of the Declaration of Independence best encompasses the ideal purpose for our government. It explains the philosophy of the Republic.

But the scariiest thought, then, is what secures that government? Anyone riddle me that.

On this 4th of July, at the Mount Rushmore celebration with President Trump, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s speech contained two words which stood out. Together she used the words “freedom and law.” I know it is three but using those two words combined seemed odd and I don’t remember anyone using them together just that way.

The point is we need both or we have anarchy. Much as we love freedom, we also need law. Government’s very purpose is to secure our rights, or liberty. She didn’t say that, I did.

Our laws are bound by way of the Constitution. Our Constitution is the supreme law of of the land. It sets our government but what actually anchors government is the people — “the consent of the governed.” That is where government “derives” its just powers.

Personal Value VS. What Culture Says

I might try to explain a little about me and hopefully make some principled point along the way. Even if it seems consistently dull, there is a good reason for it.

Some people may wonder why I occasionally put up music on a pretty partisan political blog? The answer is a little complicated. But I confess both are personal interests.

No, besides interests, I also like to use music sometimes to make a political point. I confess to doing this. I know it doesn’t always go with the point very well. I prefer to think of it as punctuation like a period or exclamation point at the end of a good sentence.

This doesn’t mean the music goes exactly with the text. It is an aid. But it can accentuate the text. Some people would like to marry politics and music. That repulses me. However, there are times music can make a political point, if there is some deeper meaning to it. So I normally frown on conjoining the two.

The other issue is music and politics are both a part of our culture. I am not a creature of popular culture and do try, except for basic traditions, to avoid being sucked into the cesspool of popular culture. Some people prefer to swim in it or dive into it as a rule.

But I admit to succumbing to music, lots of kinds, even if it is seen as popular culture. That’s because I see it as an art-form or expression – not for cultural exploitation.

For example, you could be surprised how anti-culture I am. I still do not have a cell or mobile phone, which causes me problems anymore. I still use a PC computer instead of a laptop or a mobile device. In fact, normally I am among the last to join any trend, say on doing certain things. All of those may cause more problems than it avoids today.

I don’t particularly wear my politics on my sleeves or talk about them much in public. There are exceptions. I stay out of popular culture battles except where the social, political and principled points are on the line. I admit that can be frequent. So I am a bit of a counter-cultural warrior.

I believe in living out one’s faith as best he or she can against a tide of social and cultural woes or norms that make it unpleasant. And I will not let inconvenience or blowback for it deter my path. Actually that is society’s way of influencing one’s beliefs using popular criticism, culture, or political correctness.

With all those things, you can assume in many areas that is swimming against the tide today. But it should be a healthy swim rather than a reluctant, tiring one — else they are winning. ‘They’ meaning the left and their popular conceptions of current culture. I accept that, if objectively weighed, they do appear to be winning the battle in the short run, just as fake news seems to daily .

It is the closer look at things I am more concerned with. I hate the idea that knee-jerk reactions determine narratives or even events. I believe people should be, and generally are, smarter than that. And doing so is to fall into a trap.

I think and expect the right – whether it is a political side or moral principle – will eventually win. I think it is our job to pursue that right. So I believe a valiant effort is necessary in trying to achieve it. I think that effort also has a value.

I believe that the Declaration of Independence says eventually our battle is necessary to correct the current politics and an out of control system itself. Immediate correction cannot be practically expected. It did not happen overnight. It will take energy and effort to correct it, even if that is only a goal. It is still a noble one.

So I may be guilty of delving into the culture of music. But it is not cultural to me. There are still lessons to be learned by exploring it without falling prey to popular culture. I have seen one concert in my life. I am not a Grateful Dead, or any, groupie.

I am also not a movie buff. I haven’t seen many classics. I never had time to watch them. I appreciate comedies though also see those more as an art-form and not of popular culture.

Now those could all make me a boring person by some standards. Maybe it seems boring but makes a statement. I like to try to read intent or purpose into something as much as possible. Practicality can be a virtue.

Enough right there to put me at odds with most popular ideas today. Yet it is my retreat and sanctuary. I believe it has far greater value, at least to me, than following popular trends. But I do write about those trends to critique them. I find them funny and of little lasting value. Some are curious.

I believe one has to find and seize a (greater) value from not conforming to trends. Politics also appears littered with popular trends today. For instance, socialism uses popular trends like a tool to manipulate the mob. That makes it dangerous.

All this is why I detest mob mentality and rule so much. Our founders understood the threat in that. Does this often make me a loser, or at least seem like one? Yes. I would rather be considered a loser by others if a winner is being part of a socialist mob club.

And for these personal reasons, I believe that is what makes conservatives such a target because they have strong independent beliefs. But there is a great untapped power in the consensus of conservatives. We should all work harder to that end by joining our efforts.

9-11 The Infamy Wears Off

It is that important national day of 9-11, once again, with all that it entangles. I find myself still in a constant state of mourning for all the families and great loss of that day, 18 years ago today — feeling more like it’s been 18 months. The kind of loss so big that it always leaves a lump in my throat.

But now, on this day, I am also in mourning for something else. I mourn the loss of CNN, too. Yes, you heard me right, grief not grievance.

I remember back in the early 90’s when CNN was a fledgling news channel as it covered the first Iraq war, Dessert Storm. I recall C-130 Hercules transport planes flying non-stop overhead 24 hours a day in a perpetual pattern. I was told that’s what they were.

For the up to date information, you could turn to CNN as a source for news. Wolf Blitzer was on location there somewhere reporting what was going on. It was called the first televised war — even if that was a distortion. CNN was one voice in a vacuum demanding real-time information. We needed to know what was happening in a country finding its war and defensive posture. CNN was there. Maybe reports were not complete or up to the second but it is all we had. In fact, before it started we were well aware of circumstances via media reports. No internet to rely on either.

Contrast that with the menu of cable news we have now, with Internet and social media compliments. It’s almost hard to imagine that CNN was so prominent of a news source then. But those days are gone, and so is CNN as a credible news source.

So today I am mourning that loss as well as 9-11. Back on 9-11, 2001, CNN tried to keep up with a slurry of news. They tried, at least temporarily, to provide unbiased coverage. I have to say, by then, Fox did a better job. Cable went commercial free for days in wall-to-wall coverage. We were mostly a unified nation, even if George Bush was the President. (Not Al Gore)

The bad guys were in the deserts and mountains of Afghanistan. A new area we didn’t know that much about. So much to do and say. Before a military response, there were debates in Congress and they lined up supporting force. Only a few outliers.

Well, with all the mourning today, there are a number of things regarding 9-11 that can anger me like almost nothing else. Those are: lack of respecting or accepting the attack for what it was, trivializing the sanctity of the day; drawing unreasonable parallels or equating other acts of violence to it; using that historical event to promote other partisan political agendas; giving short shrift to victims of that day that continue to mount; or depriving those victims of dialogue and justice that still evades them all these years later. Or, basically misusing the memory or sacred observance of the day. (even 18 years after)

But CNN manages to do about all those, on the day it is memorialized in 2019. And they did it as a matter of programming, which reveals planning. I could list endless poof and examples but that is more writing than I care to do now. I shouldn’t have to that is obvious. It is not only CNN but the entire left does the same. It is not nit-picking.

So cable news chose to talk about gun control, the impeachment agenda and normal partisan gotcha politics. There are 364 other days in the year and that is not enough, they have to corrupt this one too, like everything else?

No, they could not even be bothered to respect the memory and events of the day. They must defile the day’s memory and its significant importance. Nothing is sacred.

Congratulations, CNN, because today you earned the “enemy of the people” title anew!

Few remember that it was John Brennan’s private security company that was responsible for the breach of State Department files which sanitized the passport records (still never seen by the public) of presidential candidate and then-Sen. Barack Obama prior to the 2008 presidential election.

On March 21, two unnamed contract employees for the State Dept. and a third were disciplined for breaching Obama’s passport files. Two were found to be employees for Stanley, Inc., a security firm based in Arlington, Virginia, that was headed by former CIA agent John Brennan, who was then serving as an advisor on intelligence and foreign policy to Sen. Obama’s presidential campaign.

Brennan was an undergraduate at the American University in Cairo in the 1970s, where he studied Arabic. In 1976, he voted in the presidential election for Communist Party USA candidate Gus Hall. He speaks Arabic fluently, having served in the CIA as station chief in Saudi Arabia.

On Feb. 13, 2010, as President Obama’s chief counterterrorism advisor in the White House, Brennan hosted a public forum, co-hosted by the White House Office of Public Engagement and the Islamic Center at New York University, where he quoted a lengthy statement in Arabic which he didn’t translate for his English-speaking audience.

What did Charlie Daniels say?

I saw this article from November, 2013 and I was mostly through it cheering before I realized it was written by Charlie Daniels. Normally I’m aware of his writings when I read them. But at least you will know in advance who wrote it. It is all the more true now. A few selected excerpts:

The government that was founded to serve the people has turned the equation around and now they believe that the people are supposed to serve the government. That we should be willing to put up with whatever taxes they choose to levy, to abide by every ridiculous rule or regulation their bureaucratic little minds can conceive and allow them to regulate every facet of our lives…while they live above the law out of the clutches of Obamacare and shrinking retirement plans.

They pass out billions of dollars in contracts to their political allies and subsidize companies that have no hope of succeeding while they exempt those they choose from the programs they’re forcing the rest of the country into.

They can hire thousands of agents to enforce their will on the public.

They can forsake Americans in the Foreign Service – leave them to die without even attempting to rescue them.

They can look into a television camera and lie with a straight face.

Amidst all this passivity, however, there is great frustration, a smoldering, white-hot anger that only awaits a rallying point to ignite and become the most motivated political force in this nation.

If there has ever been a time in the history of this country for a true leader to step forth, it is now.

Ashamed to be an American? Towns crack down on American pride

The Star-Spangled Banner survived the rocket’s red glare and bombs bursting in air – only to face a modern-day threat – silly town ordinances and petty bureaucrats.

I’m not sure if it’s an epidemic of anti-American nincompoopery sweeping across the fruited plain or if it’s a general lack of common sense. Maybe it’s both. I’ll let you be the judge of that.

In Lexington, South Carolina Marine veteran Bob Michaelis was told to remove a patriotic display from his mattress company.

Mr. Michaelis lined the front of his store with American flags – to honor our troops.

“We got 10 flags up,” he told television station WIS. “I thought maybe it was about time we return the patriotism in America. There’s not enough of it. It seems to be lost.”

But instead of congratulating Bob’s patriotism, the town fathers dispatched the law. He was informed that the flags violated an ordinance.

“The town of Lexington says they got to come down because there’s an ordinance in place,” he said.

The town administrator told WIS they did not issue Bob a citation nor did they tell him to take down the flags. …/

Welcome to the 4th of July under ‘new and revised’ Amerika. Not on campus at Berkeley but on main street in South Carolina. The silence from Liberals will be deafening.

No, Libs, patriotism is not an “emotional thing.” But the new and revised America is driven by Emotionalism and P/C BS. Where are the lists of “most P/C places in the US?”

So LGBT pride is in — American pride is out of fashion. Didn’t know it had a shelf life.

Basic concepts are not so basic anymore

You will have to bear with the background that some might find tiresome. But there is a matter of connecting basic ideas to be dealt with. We’ve come so far we sometimes sigh when we read old things or history. We prefer new material and words we can identify with. I can be an eye-roller as well. There is a problem with that thinking.

Stop right there; that’s enough. Everyone would recognize that as the Declaration of Independence. But maybe we need to refamiliarize ourselves with it occasionally. A philosophy based on truth not emotion — as is standard fare today. A good exercise is to repeat those words very slowly. That one line is packed and rich.

That is, of course, if you accept that there is truth, it means something and is relevant. Some people may not. Those important words of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness can be glossed over easily. We on the conservative side understand how important those words are. Not to say the Left doesn’t, but I question their perception and application.

Oh there is such a concept as self-evident, isn’t there? Some things can be reduced only so far. That line is down to almost the basic common denominators.

Now I mention all that to call attention to just one current-event example. Though it helps to see it through this lens. Life means something. Liberty and pursuit of happiness can be qualified by the respect for life.

This philosophy and the ideas were the foundation to the Constitution, yet the DOI also stands alone and did until the Constitution was written.

Now we see the Constitution and bill of rights in that context. Looking at the bill of rights, then, one can see how important those principles are.

Burying the lead

All that may seem like a heck of a wind up. The story is an illustration but any number of stories happening on a weekly basis would fit just as well. Known as hotbeds of activism, a college or University is where students are taking a stand. That alone seems like a noble thing. But what are they taking stands on? Sure campuses are incubators or pools of diverse opinion. Sometimes, but often they seem very monolithic.

Not so? Just look at some of the current trends of protests: BDS, same sex marriage, race activism, minimum wage, “social justice”, sex or abortion rights. And they are reactionary to current events. So that and political correctness, along with the academic and institutionalized hierarchy, is the backdrop. Plug in any number of issues like “controversial” speeches about Islamic terrorism — something which could affect numbers of students by the guns of radicalism aimed at them — or abortion rights they endorse.

What’s in a little harmless vandalism?

It happens again that the radically militant left has descended and stepped on someone’s first amendment speech. Well, I’m sure they don’t see it quite that way.

On a University campus in rural Pennsylvania — not like its Berkeley– students had a demonstration display permitted by the University. They had crosses symbolizing recent abortions.

For the second time in four years, the Clarion Students for Life Cemetery of the Innocents display, which consists of dozens of white crosses each representing 10 babies who were aborted that day, has been vandalized. Clarion University of Pennsylvania, a public university, is located in Clarion, PA, about an hour and a half from Pittsburgh.
Clarion Students for Life put up the crosses Sunday night around 7pm and by 8am this morning, the club’s leaders were notified that the display had been vandalized – a few crosses were written on, others were broken, and others stuffed into the nearest trashcan.
The vandals wrote on some crosses:
“would you support if this life was gay?”
“would you support if this life were trans?”
“This was a reprehensible act of discrimination against Students for Life,” said senior Todd Garrett, Vice President of Clarion Students for Life. “It was an attack on our freedom of speech. I find it quite ridiculous that this is the second time since 2011 that our crosses have been desecrated.”

“Instead of dialogue, abortion supporters have once again taken to bullying to silence those with whom they disagree,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America. “Perhaps if the vandals had sought this dialogue with Clarion Students for Life they would have learned that pro-life students support the right of every human person to be a person, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation. ”

As a matter of fact, the one individual that did confess to it had an explanation:

“She stated that the crosses had been written on before she was there. [That she] was offended by the display and thought that it was most likely from a group not associated with the University. She placed them into trash cans because she thought that she was doing the maintenance people a favor.”

So the diligently conscientious student was doing some house cleaning and helping out the maintenance crew. Along the way she was cleaning up that 1st amendment mess, but just tidying up for the janitor. Yep, sounds innocent enough. Can’t have enough helpful students around the campuses. Someone give her an award. Not making a joke of it, I would not be surprised if she or they were praised for what they did.

The subject of life deserves a closer look. You have the first amendment, in this case expressing support for life, and then you have vandalism and others trying to stifle their speech. So you have battling sides or factions.(pro-life & pro-abortion) Some say that is as it should be. But they vandalized and sought to block or shutdown the students for life.

What is amazing is to look what each side stands for. (if you want to see it in sides) You have students clearly standing on the side of life. Then you have others standing on the side of, well, various interests whether that be gays, anti-religion/ati-Christian, or abortion and what they would term pro-choice.

Consider the philosophy behind those sides. The protection of life has been a fundamental concept. Now the pro-life purposes and motives are pretty clear or “self-evident.”

I’d like to examine the vandals and pro-abortion side. They hold demonstrations and rallies. I understand that. However, look at their driving motive and philosophy. What is self-evident is they stand on the side of abortion, killing babies. Okay, whatever term you want to use it is the same thing. Now a perfectly acceptable, some believe righteous, thing to do is advocate for abortions. They stand up for ending the life of one or the 55 million ended since Roe Wade.

It is now a cause to rally support for abortion rights. And with their advocacy of defending that “right” comes the use of their 1st amendment rights. (their zealous advocacy goes beyond that) So they employ their entire first amendment rights to defend abortion. They vote and petition government the same way in support of abortion.

Is this an issue to spend one’s valuable God-given, not government created, rights on? It is to them. How much satisfaction and value is in abortion rights?

Is that advocacy the exact opposite of the premises in the Declaration? It is also in conflict with the Constitution. The Bill of Rights was itself considered by some to be controversial because they recognized that stating said rights could constitute government restrictions on them. Imagine that? And the Constitution was designed to limit government not its subjects. Some call that the chains of the Constitution.

Then let’s consider the freedom aspect. The freedoms enshrined in our system are now applied to ending innocent life. Yes, exercising one’s freedom in support of anything up to and including late term abortions as a sacred right protected by the Roe decision, as they see it. So we have the rights of freedoms and pursuit of happiness used to end life, or kill babies, not preserve it. Is that a perversion of the very rights they they are exercising?

What if a doctor consistently used his knowledge, ability and freedom to end life not preserve it? Could someone bind that up into a theme called social justice? Is their advocacy for those perversions as strong as for protecting life? Then they endorse that advocacy directly by terminology. They say they are protecting a woman’s right to choose. They call abortion reproductive healthcare. They call it “settled law” or the “law of the land,” or “basic reproductive rights”. What is basic about it?

The next time one of these all too common stories pops up, I hope people see it that way. But I fear the opposite instead. They have trained generations of people to see it in the post Roe light. They tell us you cannot restrict a woman’s right. They made it a part of every nomination for office, “do you accept a woman’s right to choose?” They have made Supreme Court nominees swear on the altar of the Roe decision many believe was wrongly decided. It is not a “law” that they have built this apparatus around.

They made it a religious test that you must leave your conscience at the door. They force people to swear on the altar of protecting abortion “rights”. In so doing, they have built the foundation of said right on the very concept they are attacking.

Humans have evolved so far that they have developed a sacred “right” to kill off their offspring. They have constructed a philosophy that life begins at conception of choice.

It’s a structural problem

It pays to go back to founding ideas, and my favorite is the Declaration of Independence.

The words flow like milk and honey.
Skip to the often quoted passage:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,

Houston, we have a problem! It is no longer the “consent of the governed” but the unjust power of the elite ruling class that dictates. That’s what we got with ObamaCare. It was obvious that was not consent of the governed. They stood against the will of the people.

Deals and bribes by the consent of the ruling class using its unjust power to dictate. We were told this is the way things are done. Our founding philosophy was breached and the elite ruling class gave us what they wanted.

Then we saw it again in the debt ceiling and the fiscal cliff.

“What we’ve got here is a failure to communicate.”

It is not even by sleight of hand, the elite ruling class arrogantly and defiantly decides our government as well as our fate. And it derives its unjust power from itself. No one saw this coming or thinks it is absurd? It is not only Democrats who are guilty either.

Is it any wonder that things are going the way they are?  Liberal-progressives and their tyrant in the White House have declared war on the economy, war on energy, war on business owners,  war on Catholics and Christians, war on religious freedom, war on values, war on the rich, war on babies, war on women and war on the Constitution. Now they declared war on gun owners.

They’ll use every bit of the unjust power they created for themselves to rule. If they can’t legislate it, they’ll use executive power, and use executive power to thwart our efforts. If they can’t get the legislative results they want, they’ll use the courts and their unjust power to create fiat law through regulation. It is all derived from their unjust power.

The Perpetual Candidate

Obama has now made it abundantly clear, if you didn’t get the message before, that his first job and priority is campaigning. The guy can’t meet with any leaders. It might interfere and effect his candidacy. He can’t be honest on recent events, it will hurt his candidacy. He can’t take action on say the debt, because it will hurt his campaign. He can’t talk about his record, it will hurt his candidacy and campaign. He doesn’t even have time for regular briefings.

Get the message loud and clear? Libs, get the bananas out of your ears.

He does the View while squeezing in his UN speech. When it comes to fundraising, even the campaign has to take a backseat. No one forced him to set a billion dollar goal (pricetag) on the office. Anyone who would want this narcissist for a second term is a sadist.

So understand, this is the executive branch, the presidency, the commander in chief — supposedly. The DOI says “that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men”. That is the purpose of our government. Enter Obama. He can’t even defend the first amendment, and they want him to defend the US or the Constitution…or your rights? That weasel defend the country? Give me a break. In the words of BJ Clinton: “this whole thing is the biggest fairy tale I’ve ever seen”.

His first response to the flare up in the ME is to say how much the government condemns the movie, as they say everyone should. Tell us to condemn the Movie? (remember the hard time he had rebuking Wright?) Second, to round up the perpetrator, the guy who made the movie. Oh, then mention justice as if its an afterthought, or as if he can decide what justice is after all his rhetoric. Justice from a guy who is apologetic about the first amendment.

But the Campaigner-in-Chief actually has a day job, which he evades and ignores. It’s more fun rubbing up to celebs, playing golf, or his other favorite pastime, taking vacations. And when he does take trips, he says one of his big jobs is to scout places to bring Michele. What’s not to love about the job? Oh, the job….that’s it!
