You can Enable the AVIF support in the Customizer.
Go to Appearance → Customize → Miscellaneous → AVIF support and set the options.
For now you can set:
- the Compression Quality (set to 60 by default)
- Option to keep the original files. Useful if you would want to disable AVIF support for any reason – then you will have the original files uploaded and your website will not loose the images.
This ‘AVIF tools’ page contains two tools:
- Scan your media library and convert supported images to AVIF format.
- Switch converted AVIF attachments back to their original file formats.
You can revert all the changes if ‘Keep original uploads‘ option is enabled.
