“Day 61 PISC – 1967 – “Bulldog’s Nite To Shine!”

Ed Spoon* on stage for

“Charley Brown” by The Coasters

at surprise concert!

*(Ed Spoon, Platoon 1047’s beloved “Bulldog” is called up on stage at a concert by The Coasters at the Parris Island auditorium about which we boots – from every graduating platoon in all three battalions, 12 in all, with guests and dignitaries – knew absolutely nothing five minuets before we were ordered out of our squadbay and marched to the part of PISC none of us ever has seen before.  And then, we when were seated, one of the original remaining members marched up the aisle and pointed to Ed and said: “Come up on Stage”, or in truth our entire series went beserk and pushed him out of his seat and he scurried onto the stage from mid-auditorium as our DIs  and many others like them hooted and hollered.  The Coasters sang “Charlie Brown, He’s A clown…I smell Smoke in the Auditorium…” much to our surprise!
