Richard creates and presents innovative performances around psychology and magic, and consults on a range of live shows and films. Here are some of his more recent projects.
The world’s most boring card trick
Witness the most uninteresting card trick and experience the psychology of boredom first-hand. Have you got what it takes to sit through the most tedious show ever and receive a certificate verifying your extraordinary willpower? You can leave anytime, and success is an empty auditorium. Richard explores our modern-day need for constant stimulation in this unusual show that is unsuitable for those with a short attention span.
Experimental
An interactive experience like no other as the audience takes part in live psychology experiments designed to make them laugh, scream and gasp. There’s no performer. It’s just a group of people and the unknown. Everyone is handed materials as they arrive and then follow the instructions projected in front of them.
Created by Richard and performed in Edinburgh, London, Turin, New York and Las Vegas.
The Invention of magic
This intimate show celebrates Richard’s love of magic, contains illusions crafted by an unknown master magician, and explores the invention of the impossible. Enjoy erudite entertainment, peek into the secret world of magic, and witness the world’s greatest card trick.
★★★★ “involving the whole audience, he keeps everyone engaged for what is ultimately a great reveal.” World Magic Review
Seance
Step into the shadows for a psychological reimagining of the Victorian séance. Richard blends history, magic, and sensory deprivation to explore the limits of belief. Recreating a 19th-century sitting in total darkness, this immersive experience challenges your perceptions and asks: is it spirits, or just your mind?
Staged in London, Edinburgh, and Las Vegas.

Theatre of Science
In this early show, Richard teamed up with mathematician Simon Singh to create a spectacular and funny show about science. It included mind-bending psychology and hair-raising demonstrations, and was performed at the Soho Theatre (London), Edinburgh Fringe and off-broadway in New York City.
