Decarbonized collection of hard working agriculture buildings
When an established Long Island nature preserve acquired a historic farm they decided to restore it the way it began – utilizing regenerative and sustainable farming practices. This collaboration with Andropogon Associates looks to restore a place-based balance between nature, the built environment, and the agricultural environment. The project includes an array of buildings including historic restoration, adaptive-reuse, and new-construction. These sustainable and hard working agricultural buildings support the operations of the farm while creating a cohesive design environment for staff and visitors. The all-electric farm buildings include planning for renewable energy generation to achieve a net-zero energy operation.
